It's interesting to hear about the negotiations that are supposedly going on. If I was Russia, I'd be in no way, shape or form interested in springing a deal for her. I see literally zero upside to Russia freeing this criminal. The arms dealer that we have is almost through a great deal of his sentence and will be released in due course regardless (forget about the fact that it is ridiculously stupid of us to even offer to trade an arms dealer for an anti-American spoiled brat). This leaves me to think that something bigger and more consequential is potentially on the table that hasn't been released (and possibly won't ever be released publicly).
Yeah, I can't believe he didn't know there would be a suicide bomber and cancel the evacuation.
Perhaps you didn't know that the suicide bomber was safely imprisoned at Bagram Air Base.
When China Joe abandoned Bagram, the bomber was free to perform his evil deed.
(Along with thousands of his friends) Biden's advisors told him not to leave Bagram until
the evacuation was complete. Yes, Biden is directly responsible for those thirteen deaths.

If Russia ever wants to regenerate tourism and normal trade it would free her.
Russia not freeing Griner isn't going to have any impact on trade or tourism, though the ongoing war in Ukraine will.
Normal people know not to bring drugs into foreign countries. They'll continue to travel to Russia regardless, IMO.
The issue is whether as many people feel comfortable visiting a police state as a relatively free country. I am sure tourism to Warsaw, Prague and Budapest is well up from, say, 1985 levels.
The more I read about Griner the less respect I have for the woman or man perhaps
