The truth is, there is no solving this puzzle........how to stop the regular massacres in the USA.
330+ million people, many of them both very awful people and off their rocker. Then of course, like it or not, millions upon millions of guns......and that number will just grow and grow.
Other countries seem to have done much better than we have in the US at “solving this problem”. It is solvable.
This kid sounds psychotic and yet he was allowed to have a gun. That kid Adam Lanza who killed all those little kids in CT was a crazy too. They knew it! The mother knew it! The father had already left due to the craziness but the mother had a house full of guns and would take Crazy Adam to target practice! Oh, that's just what he needed, isn't it?
More intervention and even removal to some sort of a mental facility might help. Not a barbaric mental hospital but some sort of place that would really help this kind of person. We've all seen people, especially young people who are an accident waiting to happen. We can report it but nothing is ever done. INTERVENTION and REMOVAL from society! DO SOMETHING!
No sane person would take the job, unless deputized and armed.
Seems we go through the same political posturing with every mass school shooting. Left calls for gun control, the right calls for armed people at the school, the media tries to spin it so the gun or some white supremacist is at fault...
It should be noted, though, it seems the shooter died in his first confrontation with an armed person, so an armed and deputized individual could have made a serious difference.
The Buffalo shooting had an armed security guard who was a retired policeman. He took his shots, but it didn't help.
It would merely be ironic if it weren’t so terribly sad.
Yeah it IS terribly sad, which is why the world looks on in utter disbelief that people there refuse to do anything about it! I was going to say that these murders (of which there are many in the US) are shameful but actually it's the refusal to do anything about it that's shameful.
This.
Our nation was founded on violence and the high murder rate is just a reflection of that.
What nation on this earth doesn't have a violent history? Not many, so what's your point except to demonize this country and its citizens? The past is in the past anyway and has nothing to do with the present. Some people may disagree with me but I think part of the problem is that all this multiculterism has gone array and the chickens have come home to roost.

I agree, we need asylums back.. maybe no need for electro-shock therapy... but we've got to find somewhere for these people to live their lives.. maybe an island?? Plum island?
