This is ONE person’s fault and one person’s fault ONLY.

There is no regulation, no law, no nothing that stops evil like this.
Yes, the fault lies with the deranged shooter. But it is up to us, the public, to protect ourselves and children from such people as best we can.

Do you lock your car when you leave it in a parking lot? Do you lock the doors to your house when you are home and away? These are the same precautions the school is responsible for. Keep the doors locked! How hard is that?

Shutting the door has been the standard security procedure for centuries. Not sure what is your disagreement here.

Which one is easier? Shutting the door or preventing the bad guy from obtaining a gun?
I don't believe, if the door had been shut and locked, that would have prevented this wacko from doing this. It would have taken him longer, or he would have waited until the kids were coming out and blasted them to kingdom come.

There is no rational reason for us to be racking our brains to think of how to prevent future things like this, if we aren't willing to do the obvious - prevent nuts from getting guns. By requiring references. And making illegal gun ownership such a serious crime that people would be deterred.

Actually there are places in the middle of nowhere like Uvalde, Texas, where people don’t expect horror like this. It ain’t Chicago or Detroit or East St. Louis.

Quit blaming the victims. I mean, it must be the parents’ fault for sending their kids to school that day, the way you go on.

This is the argument/reply I don't understand. If the mass murderer didn't use an AR-15, you (not you specifically) say they'd use knives, cars, bombs, grenades, acid, etc. so if we ban the AR-15, we'd have to ban everything. Why does it have to be an all or nothing fix??? Why can't the US start somewhere?

After every mass shooting, gun owners are afraid "they" are going to come and take your/our guns away. Who is 'they"? Why are you all so afraid of this?

You do not know what people feel.

So you leave your doors n windows open? There was a time, but that’s not our reality anymore. Look around, can’t get on a plane or serve a burger on a fast food restaurant or go to the grocery store. This is our reality in the USA. Where has society failed?

No, that's not a possibility.

It is my understanding that the Chief of police of the Uralde school system was in charge. He was the one running the show and should be first to be held accountable.

No, you are judging people for not feeling grief and pain to the same extent you do.

This doesn’t even make sense.

And again, you are blaming the VICTIM. This is akin to saying…”well, she was flirting and was wearing a short skirt so she had it coming.”
