Well, if Mona Lisa didn't want to be attacked, she shouldn't have been smiling about climate change.

Or was she sad?

Hhhmm....it's kinda hard to tell the more you look.

Legend has it that Da Vinci was actually painting himself in drag.

So, this was actually a transphobic assault.

She looks kind of bemused to me. She's like, "why are all these people staring at me all the time?" Though, to her credit, she didn't even flinch when the cake was hurled her way.

Makes sense, nothing brings the cause of climate change to the forefront like throwing a piece of cake at the Mona Lisa. Now had it been a pie that would of been plain nuts.

I know what you’re saying but aren’t you jumping to conclusions? Do we know what gender/pronoun Mona Lisa wants to identify as?

The Mona Lisa has a protective covering, as do a lot of famous artworks.

Sadly this happens to often and such works are now thankfully protected.

The destruction of artwork stretches "back to 455 AD when the Vandals invaded Rome, destroyed numerous artworks, and became forever associated with the wilful defacement of art".
