As has been said many times in these threads, nobody is proposing banning hunting rifles. Trudeau's ban, for example, only pertains to handguns. It even says in the thread title.

I always carried a 44 magnum revolver when I went out hunting. If nothing else, it gave me a sense of being able to take on a charging boar. Not that I would have put my rifle down but in case the rifle jammed or things went south. I would not want to be out in bear territory without a 44 mag. That's just me.
But then one needs to see things from Turdeau's perspective He doesn't want to have a populous that can resist his authoritarianism. We've already seen what he did with the mandate protests. Stalin would have been proud of him.
As I mentioned in another thread, some parts of the gun smuggling traffic along with tobacco pass thru the Akwasasne Mohawk reserve who's on the US-Canada border and things could get very dicey...

Interesting that he wants to deny women, elderly and weak the ability to defend themselves. I guess when you have your own security detail you don't consider such things.
