In the wake of a horrific mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has signalled that the Canadian government will be moving ahead on new gun-control measures "in the coming weeks."

In previous Parliaments, the Liberals have made changes to Canada's gun laws, including strengthening background check requirements and banning more than 1,500 models and variants of "assault-style" firearms. And, while some elements of their plans have still yet to come to fruition—including their proposed mandatory gun buyback program—in the 2021 federal election, Trudeau promised to go further.

Why would anyone want to live in such a liberal cesspool?
Maybe you should ask the little kids that survived mass shootings in their schools and places of worship. I realize little kids don't vote, but you'd at least get responses that weren't influenced by party politics.

Do you want your kids and other people's kids to survive, or don't you? Do you think one of government's roles is to protect the population to the extent possible (this is why we have police and armed forces, right?), or are you ok with the status quo? What's the point of banning abortion, if the resulting kids are just going to get shot to death once they're school-aged?

It's not that easy, or we'd love to.

Yes, the government has done such a bang-up job of protecting our children that we just saw government agents spend 77 minutes cowering in a hallway while children were dying. Every single school shooting has been allowed to happen by government incompetence, but we're supposed to trust the government to protect our children? Drugs are bad, Ruth. Just say no.

So, here in America we need to wake up to the fact that we're far better off worrying over if we can go to a nightclub or grocery store without getting shot down. Or to a music festival:

Trudeau: "It will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere in Canada."

Maybe not, but it will still be possible to USE handguns, as the surge in armed carjackings in Toronto attests.

No, wonder, the town in which the shooting happened is an all-black town.

By the way, CNN reported the shooting as shown here:

Send me money. I need to be independently wealthy to get there since I'm retired.

You're claiming that the police in Uvalde were outgunned by one individual? Last time I checked, 19 is greater than 1.
