Speaking of skipping history, Richard Nixon was a republican. Heck, even the governor of Ohio at the time was a republican. And slavery was indeed allowed by the Founding Fathers. Just thought you'd like to know.

Seriously? It is sad -- sad that you have no idea what you are talking about.

You all are basically saying, "More guns = less rapes." The problem with that claim is that the statistics do not bear out your claim.
Rape rates are higher in Sweden, Australia, Belgium, and other countries. You think armed women are raped? Most women are raped in cities that restrict carry.

This simple fact is Australia had a massive gun confiscation and rapes increased by half or more over the next decade. While the US saw a fifty percent drop in rapes while the number of guns owned by American DOUBLED.

And yet despite having so many guns that frequently little kids find themselves shot to death in their own classroom you are STILL more likely to be raped in the US!!
Its hardly a valid 'defence' for owning guns is it!
There is NOTHING gun nuts can say that paints the gun loving, red neck society in a positive light because there are NO positives.

If the whole thing wasn't so bloody tragic I might even be a little impressed that gun nuts are still trying!

He was trying to equate not owning a gun with being like a Jew in Nazi Germany, as if they were voluntarily boarding the trains taking them to the concentration camps. It's pretty sick, actually.

I already addressed this. There are a few developed nations that have higher rape rates than the US, but most are lower than the US.

Here are rape stats by nation:
https://worldpopulationreview.com/co...ics-by-country

There are just 3 developed nations with higher rape rates than the US - Belgium (barely), Sweden and Australia. Basically every other developed nation has a lower rape rate than the US, including France, Canada, France, Finland, Luxembourg, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, etc. All of those places have more restrictive gun ownership laws than in the US. I don't hear shouts of protest coming from women in those countries begging to own a gun so they can protect themselves from being raped.

Out of the mud hut and into the cave?

OP and the peanut gallery supporters can't stop embarrassing themselves. Just stop. Do they even read what they post? They're in a hole but keep digging. Advocating for more guns on the street is like advocation for smallpox or the plague. There is something wrong with their thinking.

Problem solved. Easily.

There needs to be a national solution. When each state sets their own laws, it's much too easy to skirt those laws.
That's already a felony.

How about enforcing existing laws instead of
making up new ones that won't be enforced?

Nah, law abiding folks carrying guns isn’t the problem….but advocating, defending, and enabling criminals back on the streets is embarrassing and certainly something wrong with that thinking.

Just think, no criminals no need for meanie police or guns.

If there was a national standard on what guns could be bought and sold, and who could buy them and sell them, you would replace 50 sets of laws plus federal laws with 1 set of federal laws. It would probably be easier to enforce.
