You really don't give younger people much credit, they have brains, they think for themselves and they care about others something that is so often missing among the alleged adults. Other than not having a lot of life experiences to draw from they are more likely to be aware of the issues that matter to them and the candidates that support them which I will guess differs from your views.

We have just seen plenty of adults vote for and continue to support the PT Barnum of the 21st century because he makes a good show. Other candidate play purely on emotion throwing out those word which are like red meat to the wolves such as "indoctrinated".

Its obvious, we as a society, have determined that 18-20 year old's lack the mental capacity to make correct decisions.
No- can’t vote, can’t serve. No. Only reason the right wants this relates to the fact that young people are not in favor of most republican’s policies. No abortion, no freedoms of speech, anti climate change? Lack of care over their schools shot up, anti LBTGQ, anti wage increases etc. They for the most part hate trump and his ism.

The "age of reason" (according to the Catholic Church, I think) is seven.

I know some people love to refer to brain development studies and have decided that age 25 is the magic number when the brain works correctly, but just judging from history - the Greatest Generation, as an example - many people after WWII went on to build very stable lives, starting at young ages (and many married young, as well).

Western culture has infanticized kids - I ascribe this to many mothers taking on the role of being an assistant to their kids - and also preventing the kids from going outside or exploring - so in effect, wrapping them in cotton wool and keeping them "safe" so they don't develop naturally and conversely, become developmentally disabled (they may look "normal" but can't take care of themselves).

ETA: Those kids can't effectively vote at 18 or 21, so it doesn't really matter.

So the justification is if they can vote at 18 they should be a able to buy AR-15's. I can live with a bad vote but I can't live with children slaughtered in the classroom.

Democrats would never vote for this. The younger the person and the less life experience they have, the more they vote democrat.

Democrats love taking away rights for things like guns to this group of people, but they want them to keep voting for them!

I'd be fine raising the voting age if they also raise the age of majority. You can't expect kids to be able to sign up for the military and not be able to vote. I also think the drinking age should be the same.

21 seems reasonable for all of it.

Recent generations have the advantage of having massive amounts of information at their finger tips (thanks to the internet), but still make poor decisions that can have life altering consequences. I think 25 is reasonable age at which people should be allowed to vote, join the military, purchase alcohol, etc.
Nah, Keep the min. voting age to 18 but raise the minimum wage to run for all political offices to 25 or 30. I'd be far more afraid of 18-24 year old mayors not having enough life experience to make good decisions in running the city. Being U. S. president can stay at 35.

That's exactly why they shouldn't be able to vote until their minds have matured. They wouldn't deal in emotion and be pro-woke like thinking that killing the unborn is a natural thing to do. Who's opposed to freedom of speech? It's the left that can't stand a different point of view and resorts to name calling of anyone who disagrees with them. Anti-climate change? What does science say about it? Since when don't the Republicans care about our kids being safe in schools? Taking away our 2nd Amendment rights is not the solution of which the left wants.

Most Republicans I know are not anti-gay nor are they anti wage increases. I'm one of them and I know many like me. It's Biden these immature adults should hate not Trump. Do you need a list as to why?

Once again, I don't see voters in the 18 to 20 age group as having enough influence in the vote count to matter or worry about. A significant number of them haven't even bothered to register to vote yet. They don't even have interest in political activism. When I went to weekly held Tea Party meetings ten years ago most people there were around 50 and older quite a few retirement aged with none under 30. Same way with the drug law reform group I went to. At least the petitions for legalizing medical marijuana drew some young people to help get signatures.

How is it fair to deny the younger voters, age 18-24, who want to vote straight Republican? It isn't.

Most people in all age groups are opposed to banning most or all abortion.

The under-40s I know and work with would agree with your assessment 100%. They are damned tired of republicans, period, and they all know how to find the polling place nearest to them. I don't personally know of but one of them who doesn't have any interest in politics. Right now they are pissed off because of the RvW leak from SCOTUS and the utter inaction and indifference of republicans to meaningful gun control and the rights of children to be able to go to school with some assurance they won't die there because some crackpot had unfettered access to a firearm.

There are between 75-80 million Millennials and after now that are of voting age, and another three million a year aging into the process. You will see them every November there is an election from here on out, and they will soon have enough power to elect the people they want to see. Politicians had best either appease them or get out of the way.
