They were killed with their own guns. As far as ar15s, who do you know that carries them on their persons? Around your own house I can't think of anyone who has a gun on him all the time let alone an ar15.

ar 15S are assault weapons. An assault is an attack. They were developed for attacking not defense. They were developed in one of the world wars by the Germans or Russians I think.

Flawed analogy. Illegal aliens are violating the law each and every day they're illegally present in the US.

This is a joke right?

They don’t talk about Mexico because they have the gun control laws these people would love to have in this country, but those laws are a joke just as they would be here. There is no getting away from guns in this hemisphere. It may work in Canada, but it won’t work anywhere else.

The cartels likely pay a big price for that kind of immunity from police or the govt!

I know that a huge US paper company cut one of the cartels a 7 figure check a few years ago, (they brought in a special team of lawyers that handled deals like this with the cartels), they essentially threatened the US companies factory in Mexico, with violence and kidnapping, unless they paid up...

The cartels try to get monthly payments for years, but the lawyers negotiate for a lump sum, one time payment, for allowing the factory to operate on cartel turf. (A family member of mine was one of the lawyers who negotiated for the paper company). Its very clever how the cartels do this, they took control of the factory while the negotiations were taking place over a couple days. In the end, the cartels got a big fat check from the US paper company, a one time payment only, but it was in the Million$
We will see how “one-time only” it is in a few years.

Are you being sarcastic or just hopelessly naive?

The dude has been in prison for years and in for life. He escaped from the transport bus taking him to a medical appointment. He hid out in the woods and also broke into 1 or more homes in the area where he was hiding. He was in a prison gang, as many are. He wasn't walking around free in society, he escaped.

The speculation is the escapee was already hiding out at the empty vacation home owned by the grandfather, who then, with his 3 grandkids and another young cousin, went to their vacation home on Thursday. In the home already was an AK15 and a hand gun, owned by the family. That's how the escapee got the weapons to shoot the family.

1 adult, 4 kids from ages 11 to 18, were all killed. The killer then took the guns and the family's pickup truck and fled. The killer crashed the pickup truck and got into a shootout with cops and was killed.

Unfortunately, they had their AR15 and another handgun *in the vacation home* where the killer was already hiding out. That's how the killer got the weapons. The family was killed with their own guns, by a prison escapee.

He'd already been incarcerated for >15 years on 2 life term sentences in Texas

In 2006 and 2007, he was convicted of capital murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

Somehow, Texas DOC wasn't able to securely transport him, as he escaped while in their custody, on their bus.

ETA: and since people seem to want to blame whoever was in office, it was George W. Bush who was president at the time this dude committed the murders that got him 2 life sentences in TX.

Bush wasn't very helpful when it came to the border, too. But he at least signed into law a border wall bill. Dems have just refused to fund it And he was 10 times better than Biden has been.
