I thought this young guy, interviewed by the BBC, had it right, in a way that a lot of people don't seem able to see.
It really is more than some local battle. It's a really clear example of an evil bad guy aggressor that recalls Hitler, not only in this immediate invasion, but in the territorial ambitions.

History is made by the bold, and Putin gets it. Europe forgot. Maybe they will remember, but who cares, it will be too late anyways. Really sucks that history is being made by losers, but the west hasn't exactly done much besides sit back and lob money and propaganda puff pieces lately. That crap didn't work centuries ago and it certainly will not work today. The west needs to work on the formula a little. They had it, but when you don't practice and work your talents, you lose the gift.
Make no mistake, while the west dithers and bides time, Putin's Russia is sharpening their spear.

By " Russian savages " are you referring to the members of the Russian state who ordered the invasion or to Russian people in general ?
If it's the latter then how do you justify doing so , since the members of whatever nationality you belong to may very well have participated in some way or another of the invasion of another country , what with literally every other ( or at least third ) country in the world having invaded its neighbors at some point throughout history .
Furthermore since when has it been the duty of the world to ( judging by the implication of your post ) militarily intervene in wars they are not involved in and to go further would you be in support of a properly negotiated peace agreement that would settle both Ukraine's and Russia's grievances to the greatest extent possible ?
Because all this war hawk rhetoric will do exactly nothing to help the average honest person suffering from this ongoing catastrophe , least of all if they happen to be Ukrainian .
They're not fighting for the freedom of the world. They are fighting for their country's freedom, which I laud them for. Their fight is not our fight. The sooner some world leaders stop trying to make it "our" fight, the better off we'll be.
First, I hope you're not implying that there is something wrong with the indignation of ordinary humane people.
Second, I don't think Ukraine is necessarily looking for foreigners to join up, as they don't know the territory.
Actually, Zelensky called for as many mercenaries/"volunteers" as possible. he wants to create International Legion.
