After months of closed door investigations, the House January 6 Committee holds its first hearing with public testimony about what transpired-and why-during the assault on the U.S. Capitol.
Really? LOL. Because there are dozens of sources that say there were, but I suppose that's all "fake news" if it doesn't fit your agenda right?
The ones who didn't bring them improvised them from what was on hand. I'm reminded of the oft-posted phrase that "Hammers and baseball bats can kill people as well as guns."
I said that the committee is a sham and they have no credibility. Obviously the hearing hasn’t happened yet, but I’m sure the theatrics coming from Adam Schiff and the like will be over the top. People like Adam Schiff and dumb-as-a-brick Bennie Thompson don’t exactly instill confidence.
And McCarthy appointed people to the committee, but they were rejected by Nancy Pelosi, for political reasons.
So funny that people think that Democrats are well-meaning and as pure as the wind-driven snow. They don’t care about finding facts or “getting to the bottom of what happened,” they only care about politicizing January 6 and keeping it in the news for as long as they can for political purposes, even though most people don’t care about January 6 anymore.
McCarthy didn't want a committee, then he did. Two of the rejections were Trump supporters that voted against the vote certification, the other 3 could have been part of the committee but McCarthy rejected the committee.
All members of that committee have access to the documents and can make recommendations, the two republicans have equal standing.
Quote:
Facts First: McCarthy's claim is misleading. Pelosi did reject two of McCarthy's five proposed committee members, Reps. Jim Jordan and Jim Banks, on account of concerns about their "statements made and actions taken" -- but she accepted the other three McCarthy picks, and she also gave McCarthy a chance to suggest another two members to replace Jordan and Banks. Instead, McCarthy decided to withdraw the three members Pelosi had accepted. Even after he did so, the minority party still had representation on the committee: Reps. Liz Cheney, who had already been selected by Pelosi before McCarthy pulled out his own selections, and Adam Kinzinger, whom Pelosi selected later. Both Cheney and Kinzinger are outspoken Trump critics who have been at odds with many of their GOP colleagues, but they are elected Republicans nonetheless.
Maybe. It should be good for some cringe worthy eye rolling moments. I do want to see those responsible being held accountable, this being broadcast during primetime is nothing more than political theater though.
The Democrats are doing everything they can to deflect from the violence their side has done, and the train wreck that this administration has been.
The GOP should pull a tactic from the Dem playbook and in every political ad showcase the violence that went on for 4 years, the violence that has drastically increased the past two, the CHAZ zone insurrection, the border debacle, and the rising costs of everything.
