We Republicans remember very well the breathless attempts to take down an elected President back on November 6th, 2016, the work of the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Campaign, the Jill Stein recounts, the Russia Russia Russia Probe, Impeachment 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, ... , Mueller-Time, the work of the DOJ, John McCain and the Dossier, Comey and Strzok and Page, the rest of the FBI, NSA, CIA, the Fakestream Blamestream Lamestream Media, the "Mostly Peaceful Riots-er-Protests of the Summer of Love 2020, the injustices at the Mexico Border, the disgusting treatment of three of the last four Supreme Court Justices ... and on and on and on and on.

Republicans are thinking about the Southern Border, the cost of Petro, the cost of Diesel, the stocking of our grocery store shelves, our tax rates, our interest rates, the shape of our Aviation Industry, the respect of our allies and rivals around the globe...

... you know? Adult stuff.

We can discuss things like the price of diesel etc. But we can also prosecute someone for trying to steal a election.
Rubbish.

Prove it.

Were you one of the folks convinced Trump, via Russian collusion, stole the 2016 election?

the way I read the post in question was that Trump tried to Retain power in office on January 6 by allowing delusional and radical anarchist to surge the Capitol in hopes of stopping the recording of the Electoral Votes into record by the V.P. A bit wordy on my part though it does explain a bit as to what is meant by Trump and his ilk. So yeah trump was seeking to disregard the constitutional process and retain a position . He lost though--- HA!

On a sidebar- Assange could very well be the person who could burst open the entire 2016 collusion tale -

That pretty much sums it up.

This was part of a coordinated effort to overthrow the 2020 election.

Now whether Trump came up with this scam, or merely played his part, remains to be seen.

Sounds remarkably like a rehash of the (failed) 2nd impeachment theory.

And if you thought Trump, via Russia collusion, stole the 2016 election it seems likely you’d think he at least tried to steal the 2020 election. And will try to steal the 2024 election. If not at all accurate, the ‘Trump Thief Theory’ at least has the attribute of consistency. And, of course, it has the specificity the ‘Orange Man Bad Theory’ sadly lacks.

Are you imagining this is a coherent "argument" of some sort?

Going to be a big week for the Insurrectionist-R-Us folks.

Bannon's trial for contempt of Congress gets underway on Monday.

On Tuesday, the Secret Service is supposed to stop monkeying and hand over those texts.

On Thursday, the Jan. 6 Committee will have it final summer hearing at 8 p.m. This hearing is scheduled to focus on the 187 minutes between Trump leaving his “Stop the Steal” rally and when he finally issued a statement asking his supporters who ransacking the Capitol to go home.

Now, maybe we will get an answer to that crucial question of whether Trump got into it with the Secret Service over whether they would drive him to the riot or not.

LOL. Yes, that triple-hearsay bombshell (!) about trying to grab a steering wheel or a door handle or neither (or both?) was quite riveting.

Apparently Trump was stopped from heading to the Capitol and the committee is turning that into criticism he did not go to the Capitol. Inaction! (Another bombshell [!])

Word is the select committee hearings are fizzling out Thursday. Very sad.

They should now consider staging a House revival of the old Trump Russia Collusion Hoax.

Word is you are not understanding what is going on here.

The Jan. 6 Committee is not trying to turn this into anything. It is what it is.

Team Trump has latched onto this part of Hutchinston's testimony and made a big deal out of it, claiming that some anonymous Secret Service agent is willing to testify under oath that it never happened.

So far, no sign of the anonymous Secret Service agent, but a police officer who was nearby testified that Trump got into it with the Secret Service about going to the Capitol.

If you have a link to the Jan. 6 Committee turning this into a criticism of Trump for not going to the Capitol, please post.

The inaction they are concerned about are the 3+ hours that Trump sat on his hiney while a mob that he knew was armed attacked the Capitol, beat up police officers, and threatened the VP, the Senators, and the Representatives.

No need to post misinformation. Tune in to Thursday's hearing, and get the straight skinny.
