He's not a hero.

He's a disturbed young man, and I believe in God, and believe that somehow God gave him grace to halt his plan.

What a complete relief, that he stopped short of completing his plan to kill a Supreme Court Justice.

On the other hand, the US Marshals were there on site, and saw him arrive, as was the plan, and he wouldn't have been able to complete his plan even if he intended to.

If he had been carrying an AR-15 nobody would have even noticed him.

He took a taxi—
I think that shows the level of planning and tactical knowledge that went into his scheme

Right. But then, he called 911 on himself.

Was that in his plan? To call a taxi, arrive on site, and then report himself to 911? Was that in his tactical "knowledge"?

Your point?

Honestly, it seems like some of the posters in this thread wish he hadn't stopped himself from following through on his plan.

Wish he had been successful.

Agree?

He could have shot Marshals enroute to a successful assassination. You never know. He had a gun (amongst other weapons). And this may encourage more leftist assassination attempts.

This will doubtlessly increase the pressure on the leak investigation going on at the Supreme Court. He claims that leak as a major motivation of his attempt (if CNN reporting is to be believed) And a reexamination of the role of Democratic (Schumer, etc.) rhetoric in political violence.

This will result in serious Republican investigations once they take over in November. As it should.

He didn't, though, did he?

He had an unloaded gun, in a locked hardcase, as is required for an airline flight.

The Marshals noticed him immediately when he exited the cab.

Thank God Kavanaugh and his family were completly unharmed.

He may have planned to call 911 all along, just to intimidate Kavanaugh and his colleagues. It's a strange way to make a point, but people have done dumber things for sure.

Ok. So that was his plan.

To pack a gun in a hard case, unloaded, and travel across the country from California to the East Coast, in a plane, take a taxi, get out of the taxi and walk away from Kavanaugh's house, and then call 911 to report himself.

You actually BELIEVE that was the plan, ALL ALONG?

Good god.
