I don't give a flying rat's backside about allegedly 'mean tweets', Trump got things done. He trashed the media and Dem leaders, which they deserved. Who cares if their little feelings were hurt. Media and Dems clearly don't give a damn about you.

The only thing that will keep Repubs out is more cheating.
I don't recall ever seeing a Trump tweet that wasn't a long overdue bullseye. Those who whine about his tweets all wear KICK ME signs on their backs.

He was able to tap into something within his following, that made his followers feel good about themselves - so good they had the euphoric expression of religious crowds at a worship event. Or Beatles concert goers in the 60's.

A following that inspired that guy to say, with tears in his eyes, "I'd take a bullet for that man!" as the motorcade went by. Inspired a man to say they should make a law that Trump could be president for the rest of his life, or as long as he wanted to be, and then only Trump family members and descendants should be president.

People who create signs with Trump's name and likeness printed on huge US flags. Who go up and down the beaches flying Trump flags, and buying NEW Trump flags after he lost the election and still flying them.

You won't see that kind of following again. For anyone else. Thank God. For the rest of us, we kind of felt like . . . um . . . we shouldn't be watching.
This is so off base it's mind blowing.

There's a reason he won. It wasn't because of some 'religious like following'.

If all of those people that you're still looking down on as less than you, weren't sick of what our government had been doing, and were tired of people not listening, (as you have clearly illustrated in this post that you have dismissed them, as well), Trump would not have won.

Here's the message: We have had it with the socialist, communist, Marxist wanna-bes, and big government worshipers. The left wants to control everyone. Most in the Republican party would only make half assed attempts to do anything about that. We want the government to leave us the hell alone. Work on infrastructure, stop giving our hard earned money to everyone else, stop shipping our jobs to every other country, make the military strong, protect our borders from people flooding in, and leave. us. the. HELL. alone!

We were sick to death of politicians! What part of that do you not understand?

Trump showed he heard us. And then he won - and then he got a whole lot of things done that politicians had been telling us for decades couldn't be done, or they just talked about it for decades and did nothing.

The best example is the border. The politicians tried to placate everyone with a dumb fence. A fence. "There. We did our job. We put up a fence." Because those politicians think the American people are stupid. NO! We want a wall. Were it not for RINO Paul Ryan blocking Trump's budget for that wall at every opportunity, the entire thing would have been built.

Trump didn't give false promises. He delivered on his promises. He said what he was going to do, and he did them.

That is why he has a huge following.

And the fact that the left lost their minds over MAGA - which means 'Make America Great Again', tells exactly what they think of this country. And that, more than anything else, is why Trump still has a huge following, and is why they will vote for DeSantis if he's the nominee.

More than anything else - as hinted in the name MAGA - is his America First policy, from which all other policies derive.

Desantis is way too smart to run with Trump. This will never happen. Trump throws people around him under the bus and Desantis isn't foolish enough to be his fall guy. Desantis has even said when asked about endorsing Trump that would be too much to ask.

Another poster has already said in this thread that many moderates won't vote Trump again no matter what. His last 6 months in office were embarrassing and he alienated millions of middle of the road types. That makes Trump unelectable. Hopefully Trump stays away as he would be the most likely reason the GOP wouldn't win in 2024.

Being Trump's VP would be one of the easiest ways of ending your political career tragically short, there is no upside in regards to risk reward there. Desantis stays out if trump runs and maybe comes around in 2028 after the toilet is flushed. That makes more sense.

In less than two years, the backlash against the new liberals will be so swift and certain, any candidate of theirs won't win a single electoral vote. Common sense grown-up liberal Dems will either win back the party, or form a new one. The new liberals are already on their way to oblivion and the media is only humoring them while they are good for amusing copy.

The biggest threat against the MAGA movement isn't the Left, the media, or even electoral theft - it's ourselves.

DeSantis Tops Trump in Conservative Straw Poll But There's Something Unsettling About It

I agree with this author whole-heartedly.

Although I am in the Trump camp, if he stepped aside for DeSantis, I would rejoice - and happily support DeSantis full force. But DeSantis is still young, and has more good he can do for FL - then we tee him up for 2028 and we get the longest Republican reign since the 80s.

On the other hand, if the Left has its way - they take the two strongest figures in the Party and pit them against each other - and it produces rapid electoral destruction for the MAGA GOP. Because both men agree on virtually everything and draw much of the same base of support.

I concur that they need to have a talk and one hundred percent ensure there is no civil war.

For one thing, even if DeSantis prevailed in a food fight with Trump, the MSM would then use that against him in the general to try and persuade Trump supporters to stay home. Of course, if the roles were reversed this holds true as well - but many Republicans seem to think DeSantis is somehow immune to the media's attacks. The media would act accordingly in an attempt to divide the MAGA movement permanently, and thus decimate its ranks - ultimately keeping the Dems in power.

Make no mistake, I firmly believe this is the Left's "ace in the hole" - break in case of emergency - and our two greatest assets need to recognize this ASAP.
You realize there will be only ONE republican nominee, right?

The only way the dems win is to cheat. Such fraud would have to be much larger than the 2020 fraud. If the dems cheat again, its Civil War.

Why war? Cheating a second time shows that our voting rights have been revoked and we are under the yoke of a dictator. Better to die than live like that.

This is exactly what I stated in this thread.

Trump could blow it all up

I know a lot of people here support Trump, but it will be a YUGE mistake to let him run. He will destroy everyone on the Republican side, leaving an opening for Democrats to sneak through.

Trump needs to be Bernie Sandered, so DeSantis can march right on in.

They won't vote for Biden. They will stay home or vote 3rd party and that will be good enough for Democrats to win.

Put it this way. ALL conservatives will vote for DeSantis. SOME conservatives will stay home or vote 3rd party if Trump is nominated.

Do you want ALL the conservative's vote or just some?

Do you want a guaranteed win with DeSantis or do you want a much higher possibility of a loss with Trump?

Wrong. We tee the public up for Don Trump Jr for 2028-2036 and then Ivanka for 2036-2044. By then we'll be able to transplant Ivanka's brain into Eric since his is no good and Eric can serve 2044-2052.

Your premise is correct, in a normal political year DeSantis, Pence, Cruz, and Haley would battle for the nomination and the nominee would have a good chance of winning in '24.

Trump is the X factor that is preventing normal from happening, he may very well implode the GOP.
