The link (from 2014) is supposed to show the top 5 costliest riots, yet none of them were close to $2 billion from the 2020 riots.
Watts was small potatoes cost wise because they burned down the slums where people were living in squalor. Slums are not worth much. Why don't you compare how many people died in all the riots of the 1960s against how many died during your summer of love riots.
The point is, comparing the US Capitol event to your precious summer of love riots is not worth the comparison. Attacking the Capitol is not about money. It is about respect for our government and respect for our laws and respect for our law enforcement officers.
The two radical leftists who firebombed a police car had already reached a plea deal and the Biden administration jumped in and coerced that there be a even better plea down to two years.
Anybody involved in Jan 6th they are throwing the book and throwing away the key.

I don't think anyone charged with a misdemeanor is having the key thrown away.

Yes, several dozen died in the Watts riot, and apparently a similar number died during the "summer of love" riots.
You want to compare the "summer of love" riots to all of the riots throughout the 60's? A few months compared to a full decade?

No sorry, it's not my "precious summer of love riots", it is those on the left who thinks those riots were precious...not one life mattered including children and cops.
Our 'free' Republic is free no more. The leftist Stasi will stop at nothing to squash any voice of freedom in what remains of this country. The alphabet agencies and media companies are all in on this.
The civil war people keep predicting... is already here... and we, the remnants of the formerly great United States, are losing resoundingly. This country is rapidly devolving into a banana republic. We have gone the way of Venezuela.
This thread is full of those who celebrate this. It's absolutely nauseating. Recognize what we are up against and prepare to fight for the slivers that remain of that fading freedom.

The country is not going to collapse.
We are here and we are strong. We all have to make choices about what to do. The one choice none of us should make is to throw up our hands in despair.
Must had been why we had minority unemployment at an all time historical low, gas at less than $2.00, and ultra low Inflation. "It was soo bad!"
The unemployment rate is the same as it was before Covid.
Last month, there was an all time record of vacancies. Nearly anyone who needs/ wants a job can get hired.
Global gas prices plunged all over the world due to the sudden and sharp lack of demand attributed to Covid and due to a simultaneous price war between Russia and the Saudis. Instead of reducing the supply, the Saudis pumped like there was no tomorrow.
5 refineries in the US were shut down due to the lack of demand.
Unless one blames Trump for Covid, there is nothing Trump did or could do to cause the very temporary low point.
Inflation was 1.26 in 2016 before Trump took office. It rose to 1.96 right before Covid his. Trump did not cause it to rise.
In 2017, Congress authorized drilling in the Arctic Wildlife Refuge. The income from leases and royalties was intended to offset the tax cuts. Only problem was, no one was interested in leasing. Why is this?
The 6 largest oil producers have record profits. Why would they want to pump more for less $.
Gas is at record high all over the world right now with a handful of exceptions in the ME, Cuba and Venezuela.
Seems no shortage of people believe all petro products are equal and there a magic spigot somewhere just waiting to be turned on. The keystone pipeline was 8% complete after 4 years of Trump. It’s purpose is to move Alberta Sands to refineries in the gulf for export. This is not suitable for gas at the pump.
POTUS has influence but does not control the economy, inflation or gas prices.
Biden owns the mess at the border- in his complete control.
Not supporting lawbreakers. But isn't Liberty worth a crummy misdemeanor???
