It was purely a hypothetical that would eliminate all firearms - a snap your fingers and "poof" firearms are gone scenario. You and I know that will never happen but others are delusional.

Could probably ban the manufacture and sale to civilians of certain types of guns and ammo.
Machine guns have been banned since 1986.
Certain types of semi- automatic guns were banned for 10 years in 1984.
Bump stocks were banned in 2018.
Semi- automatics seem to be the weapon of choice for most mass shooters of random people. The weapons are typically acquired for the purpose of a mass shooting. While existing semi- automatics would remain in circulation, they would be unavailable to the typical wanna be mass shooter who intends to kill a maximum number of random people.
You have ZERO credibility because of claims like this, "Machine guns have been banned since 1986."

Full automatics are STILL LEGALLY AVAILABLE to American citizens.

there are 68 people shot and killed (not suicide) every day in the US. a mass shooting is 2 or more people. there are HUNDREDS shot and live, every day in the USA.
The media will not report that almost ALL of these shootings are .... well you know. Its racist to quote the stats.

Maybe someday the gun nuts of America will come to understand that, in a society filled with unhinged losers by the millions, we should not make it easy for them to purchase the tools which enable them to easily kill scores of people in fits of outrage.
Maybe some day you’ll realize there are 300 million weapons in America and that criminals don’t follow the law.
Why single out Australia? Why not like France, Germany, Spain, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, etc. I could keep going but you get my drift. Or we can just be good ol' America and keep leading in Gun violence. Hey, at least if we can't be first in education or Medical care then at least we are first in something.
