For planning to riot and causing violent harm, five years in stir without parole should be sufficient for the crime. If they are found not guilty, they are not guilty. The jury is the final arbiter of that in light of whatever evidence is presented. From the article, they apparently went to the Trump rally with the intent of rioting. I wasn't there, and can only form an opinion on the facts in the article.
I am as anti-fascist as they come. My Father fought against fascists in WWII. I am also anti-crime, and I don't care what the political leaning of the criminal is. Criminals should face consequences.
Most of the nations of the world, including this one, attained their present state of independence because the greatest of their heroes were willing to risk your punishment to the max. Sometimes it takes several tries.
The Bill of Rights was added as an afterthought, "to prevent the misconstruction and abuse" of the Cinst'on. in Januart, there were men wh thought the Const'on was being misconstrued, and had a right to prevent it, including the 2A if necessary.

I wouldn't suggest using your peashooters to challenge the government.
According to the indictment, they went to the rally with the intention of committing crimes, and realized their goals. If they are found guilty, lock them away for the max.
One of the challenges in these instances is that when things have happened in some cities, the offenders have gotten wrist slaps and dropped charges by the local DA.
Not just the rioters but also the hate crime hoaxers like Jussie and Althea "frat boys burned me" from Madison.

That all has to do with the judges, and more importantly the juries involved in trying the case. Peaceful protests are fine, and protected fully by 1A, but I personally have no sympathy for people who plan violence, and don't care to see them loose to cause more mayhem.

Hold up there, no it doesn't.
It has to do with the Mayors and prosecutors. The former applying political pressure and the latter not even bringing charges, or dropping them.
Many of those cases aren't even getting to judges and juries, highly dependent on the city though. But please stop trying to claim that judges and juries let them go.
Do we really have to revisit 2020? You don't remember this? Jussie? Althea?
A significant portion of the 500-plus people charged with misdemeanors or felonies during violent clashes with law enforcement amid Portland, Oregon, Black Lives Matter protests won’t be prosecuted, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt
It's about time. I want to know how high up this goes. Which Democrats are directing the mobs and the violence? I believe it leads to Obama and Hillary in the end. Biden knew too, before he turned completely senile.
Antifa is a anti-government group. Anti-government, anti-police, anti-any form of authority. They're anarchists.
Anarchists are NOT taking orders from a major political party. If they did, they would no longer be anarchists.
[/b]If they are not found guilty, what ought to be done "to the max"? What is the maximum reward for innocence, according to your Vlad-the-Impaler system of justice?
If they are members of Antifa, they ain't innocent.

They’re getting funding from someone.
