Doesn't matter if they do or not. The DOJ can act independently based on information presented at the hearings. If anything, not issuing a criminal referral is a way for them to deny political persecution when the DOJ does go after someone.

It sure would be nice if the Democrats would work on something that would benefit the American people during these trying times of insane inflation.

With the Democrats pushing policies and campaigns unwanted by normal people throughout the country and across all demographics, they are making Red Waves more and more likely in Nov. 2022 and 2024. And the more of them who get kicked out of office, the more it will benefit the American people and the country.

Yup, if the most rabidly partisan TDSers among us can't bring themselves to lay charges down, it's game over, shut'er down... These fools are just wasting our time and money to boost their ego.... Meanwhile, the rest of us.... Our country... Our well being and prosperity... None of that is even an afterthought for these people.
The Justice Department doesn’t need a criminal referral from Congress to investigate a potential crime and determine whether to bring charges, and if it receives a criminal referral, it doesn’t actually have to act on it.
Someone might be interested in where Trump got his information that a Federal Crime had been committed since his legal team and advisors told him that a Federal Crime had not been committed.

And wasting ungodly amounts of OUR tax dollars, of course. As far as I'm concerned, anyone associated with these merry-go-round "hearings" needs to lose their jobs, lose their pensions, lose their medical insurance, have all their assets seized, and have their mansions confiscated. And that wouldn't even BEGIN to pay back what they've wasted. But at least they could think about what imbeciles they've been down at the local DC homeless shelter.
Did you wonder why the Jan 6 committee postponed its later sessions? Now you know. Jan. 6 committee will not make any criminal referrals, chairman says

The chair of the House committee investigating the Capitol riot said Monday night that the panel will not make any criminal referrals, even though its leaders have previously hinted at the possibility of doing so.
I don't think they have to -- the evidence will do the talking. The Justice Department is watching and acquiring evidence.
