He's not the first senile president, but this time the senility was apparent before the election. That is an easy setup for people around the world making jokes about dumb Americans.

Joe Biden is a second-rank actor in political theater who plays the part, along with many others, of bumbling idiot.

I agree that the downhill slide started in the 1960s, attributable to, in an economy of words, a mental illness that one may refer to as “money illusion”, one of the worst things that happens to any society, even an entire civilization.

One has the impression that by now there are people in positions of real power (not a bumbling “president”) who pursue policies of willful destruction of the economy on US soil, among other things.
