I guess they just need to buy EV tractors. Oh wait there is no such thing. I hope everyone has a thriving veggie garden like I do. There will either be food shortages or massive price increases on food.

"We Are Teetering On The Edge": Food Shortage Worries Mount As PA Farms "Crushed" By Record Diesel Prices

Pennsylvania farmers are being "crushed" by the record cost of diesel - so much so, that questions about a food crisis are starting to loom, the Morning Call reported.

One farmer in Lehigh County is quoted as saying: “I’ve got a tractor hooked up to my corn planter out here, no diesel fuel, and I can’t afford to get any.”

BIDEN AND OBAMA - mostly responsible for this.

Maybe that 40 billion dollars that the corrupt old fool sent to Ukraine could have been put to better use.

Sickening what is going on.

How long before our Ag secretary wags their fingers at them and lectures them to just go buy electric farm equipment?

That is the problem. They can talk about high prices pushing individuals to buy electric cars. Its a horrible argument. But farmers and tractor trailer drivers have to pay the higher prices and they use a lot more fuel than the average commuter so their options are either pay it or stop what they are doing. I agree the farm price controls needs to be lifted. I am against hand outs and stimulus but in this case the government needs to make sure farmers can get their goods to market. Its criminal that we overspent so much during covid handing out helicopter money and yet there is no effort to make sure our food supply is in good shape.

Diesel is close to $6. a gallon here, but everyday this week, I have sat in heavy traffic for work, just as many tractor trailers on the road today versus when diesel was half that!!??

Its illogical.

How is it illogical? Food, clothing, and other life necessities (prescription meds, etc.) still need to be distributed. They'll just cost you a lot more because distribution costs have increased and that increase is passed on to the consumer.

Repeat after me... End user/consumer ALWAYS pays. The exact same thing happens with corporate taxes. They're a business expense that gets factored into the pricing formula. Sticking it to corporations means sticking it to yourself.

I can't believe that this topic isn't getting more hits. We have hit a dangerous level that this administration is not addressing. We need more access to fuel. And we need it in a hurry before this spirals completely out of control.
