“Brown would be running as a convicted felon, but a 2002 report from the Congressional Research Service said the U.S. Constitution allows that, and states can’t prevent it.”
Yes. Also of note the convictions were all overturned on appeal. She has the plea deal which was basically for lying on her tax returns. I'm not sure if that was a felony or not that was a much more minor issue. Personally while it may not have been illegal to have the sham charities I'd still say it was definitely unethical even if she didn't cheat on her taxes. But that's for the voters to decide. In Chicago for instance that's pretty much how most politicians operate and it's just accepted behavior.
Wonder why we have such horrible politicians? Between criminals, folk with out morals or ethics, typical narcissists, self appointed kings, pathological liars and sex fiends. We can’t get good leaders.
The website said Brown, a Jacksonville Democrat who lost reelection after a 2016 fraud indictment that put her in prison, is seeking to represent the 10th Congressional District, which U.S. Rep. Val Demings is leaving because of her campaign for U.S. Senate.
