And no, the first swing of the machete wouldn't necessarily disable a woman, but even if it did, the machete wielder is focused on that woman, and the other woman can engage in combat.
That's the difference. No amount of "want to" for these teachers would have given them the ability to take out an AR15 wielder. Not so with a machete wielder.
Let me ask it this way, simply. If you are in a crowd, which one would YOU rather personally face? A gunman with an AR15, or a madman with a machete? Yourself, personally.
How about neither, dead is dead, no matter how you get there.

Well, no. Maybe you didn't read the article.
The 3 passengers in the airport that were attacked by the machete wielder, got patched up with the airport first aid kits and continued their plans for the day.

So. Choose a wound, or choose death.
So in reality, this incident was nothing more than an over dramatic nothingburger?

You are intentionally being dishonest.
A gunman can fire off 30 rounds in a matter of seconds with a range of 500 yards, and reload in 10 seconds, assuming he's somewhat clumsy.
I have a better chance of running from a knife wielding assailant than a gunman.
A knife's range is effectively the length of his arm (unless he's throwing his knives), and he's going to be pretty tired by the time he gets to his 5th victim? 10th?
There's a really the saying goes you don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Still being obtuse, I see, and talking only about the attacker. If I am being attacked, which do I want to defend myself and/or my family, a gun or a knife? Irrespective of how I'm being attacked, I'll keep my Glock, and you can have any blade you wish.
And it's all an academic debate anyhow, because with 400 million guns floating around America, gun-nazis will never be able to disarm us. Never. Go ahead and try.

The argument is a direct response to the argument of 2A advocates, who say well if someone is bent on murder they'll just choose another weapon if a gun isn't available.
Yes, they will "just choose another weapon". A much, much less effective one.
