...I think that's fair.....who thought this was a good idea in the first place

gone on too long...messed some female athletes up big time

"Lia Thomas, the transgender swimmer who smashed women's records this year, will be banned from competing against biological women in international events after the world swimming's governing body announced on Sunday that it is barring transgender athletes who went through male puberty. "

"FINA, the international federation sports federation for swimming, announced on Sunday that it is changing its policies so that transgender women can only compete in the organization's women's races if they have completed their transition by the age of 12."

"They will then have to prove to the federation that they have continuously suppressed their testosterone levels since that time. "

"To accommodate the transgender athletes, though, FINA is setting up an 'open category' for transgender athletes to compete against one another"

Looks a bit unfair, given that in USA transition cannot be completed before age 18

I can’t help but laugh at the folks that couldn’t see the consequences of this nonsense 5 feet in front of them, though I do/did like watching the consequences for those that supported it and then found themselves on the losing end.

The open category should be interesting. A bunch of guys that can’t compete against male athletes who are way better than them at sporting events.

Good but why ban them? Let them race in a separate category and their times are posted against other Trans athletes in the country.

It was always flat out Wrong to have them compete directly with the women and it is great that they are finally admitting to it.

What is up with the 12 year old mark ?? Talk about child abuse.

I saw a funny the other day credited to Bill Maher, the gist was that it is ridiculous to even talk about a kid getting a sex change. When he was a kid he wanted to be a Pirate his parents didn't take him to the Doctors to have his leg amputated and fitted for a peg leg and he didn't have an eye removed for a patch. Sometimes that Maher gets it.

Let the Trans compete but only against other Trans people.

Wait till Michael Phelps decides to enter the "open" category. It's going to be great.
