And does anybody really think the States will suspend their gas taxes that heavily impacts their own budgets?? Yeah...well good luck with that.
I don't know, because it could help people?

Are you saying that like every other conservative here, you have literally no idea HOW Republicans would fix this issue, yet you believe they will?

That's not really a ticket to run on. "Vote for us! We don't know what the hell we're going to do."

Flashback: Barack Obama, in 2008, Mocked A Gas Tax Holiday: ‘We Are Offering Gimmicks’

You mean like Cash For Clunkers - which actually made things worse?

How about Cash for Appliances?

Shovel ready jobs?

Dude was the king of gimmicks... so I guess he would be the expert here.

The whole thing is nonsense. That jackass is acting like like saving two three bucks on a 80, 90 dollar fill up is going to mean anything really.

The question was what the Republicans plan to do after the midterms when the say they will be in control.

So. What are they going to do to fix it? We keep hearing they will. So, how?

So far I have heard:

* "doing nothing is better than making it worse"
* "let's go Brandon"

Anyone have an actual idea? A plan?

Not an issue for the federal highway fund. If the the federal and state governments both temporarily eliminate the gas tax for the summer, it could increase demand for gas and actually result in higher prices. This is economics 101.

Keep the gas tax, instead give the oil exec's a 25M tax free bonus if they get the price of oil to $3 by the end of the year. That's how they can help consumers.

Yes, England tried this method with the Vikings, as I recall.

It didn't end well, at least not for the Anglo-Saxons.

Biden will still be President so of course the Republicans can't do anything, but as crappy as having $5 a gallon for gas is, it still beats $8-$10 a gallon, which is likely what will happen with Democrats continuing having complete control over this country. Gas Prices are not going down anytime soon until 2025 if a Republican wins the WH, and even that's not guarantee.

It's too early. A good team doesn't show their game plan until game day on the field. Joe Biden created this mess so let the Democrats sweat. What did Biden do the very first week he was in office??
