Used the bus for 2 years going to my radiologic technologist program at the downtown hospital. Unfortunately, the stops weren't always convenient in the summer and winter where I'd have to walk 2 miles from the last stop but I did it. The problem these days is the people who use the buses. It's not safe with the mentally ill and inner city kids who use the buses.

You mean if there were less tweaking, excrement and unprovoked violence?

Transportation does not need to be fun (and I don't know how it could be made to be fun); it needs to be practical and efficient.

Yes, that's Seattle. Open use of drugs, even lighting up, and some homeless living on buses, with no enforcement of fares. I don't know how they could possibly make it fun. With the people working from home or hybrid, and the lack of safety, I can see the transit systems going out of business if they don't take drastic measures.

Hahaha jk. Idk how it can be made fun. It’s just convenient when you don’t wanna deal with traffic and parking.
I don't think that is elitist...just my preference...but if it IS, I've earned the right!

I really couldn't say. I've never lived anywhere that has public transportation. Other than taking a Trailways bus from NH to Logan Airport, I've never been on public transportation.

But given what I need to bring in when I get home from the grocery store, I'd say no.

No, I would not use transit if it was more fun. I would use transit if it was safe and fast. Mostly fast. Make transit fast, and I would use it, but how can it make lots of local stops and be fast? It can't.

I tried taking the bus 8 miles to work but found I could ride my bike to work in less time. That is not fast.

If transit was fast, it would still have to be safe. Some is, much isn't. I would need a guarantee it is safe to get me out of my car.

You must have taken the local. Unless in your area it's different. Our local made all the stops and the express was more direct.

We suffer from government bloat and bureaucracy.. everything in this country takes forever to get done, with a million different regulations between point A and point B, so given that I'll take the fastest way... my car.
