PRIDE month went from being about accepting other who are different than you, to being all about sex and sexualizing children... I am tired and disgusted by seeing advertisements for child and teenage drag shows on Discovery+...
It was about Acceptance, but more importantly— it was about Equal Rights for all Citizens. Not just ‘marriage’, but also Jobs, Housing, Hospitals. As with many things, the Activists went way too far — going after the kids beginning in .kindergarten had turned supporters against them.
Essentially— the same thing happened with Abortion. There were always those that would be against any Abortion on Religious grounds, but it was these Late Term Abortions + the unbelievable numbers of Abortions and the Radical Activists that turned so many against them. BLM is another example of the same thing.
The Activists got worse and worse , until people were fed up with it.
In all these cases — it ceased to be about People and only about Political Ideology & MONEY
I couldn't care less about who or what you do in your bedroom. I don't see a reason to share what I do and don't care what you do. Within reason, such as consensual. But outside of that, eh. Certainly no reason to celebrate it, whatever "it" may be, and its participants. This has got to be the dumbest thing out there to celebrate, yet alone for an entire month.
Grandstanding one's sexual preferences is, yes, going to far. I don't think a normal person cares much if you, as a stranger, know their sexual preference. And most normal people don't care to know the sexual preference of others. I know I don't--I don't want to know yours, and I couldn't care less if you know mine. But it gets damned annoying when you insist that I know yours. ExtrEMELY annoying. And I'll bet you can guess where I'd like to stick that flag flying in your yard. The same place you'd like to stick an "I love oatmeal" flag if I were to wave it in your face 24/7. I DON'T CARE! Stop trying to make me care. It only pisses me off.
I’m not sure about “too far” but it’s become super commercial to the point where now it’s just an opportunity for people to take virtue signaling to the extreme.
