Biden on TV just now: Congress must codify Roe v Wade. Did he miss the memo: USSC said the Fed govt can't make ANY laws on abortion??

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/06/30/bide...oe-v-wade.html

I know his handlers must feed Joe the news in small drips and drabs, to give him time to take it in and settle it in his brain.

But it looks like he either completely missed an important Supreme Court decision in the Dobbs case, or his handlers left it out of the Romper Room stack that Joe has to go through.

Hey, Joe, here it is:
The Supreme Court has stated that Roe was improperly decided in 1973, and the 2022 court decided that the entire Federal government (that's Congress, the Pres, and the Fed courts) could make NO LAWS AT ALL about abortion. The Constitution has always said that such issues can only be decided by "the States, and the people". Finally, at last, the Court agrees.

Sorry to have to break it to you, Joe, but what you said Congress should do on TV just now was flatly illegal after last week's USSC decision.

You might consider getting some new handlers. The ones you have now, just hung you out to dry.

Better be careful with that. You can get banned from Twitter for announcing false information about an important issue.

SCOTUS didn't rule that Congress cannot make a future law. Legislative branch writes laws.

Didn't even read the Opinion, did we?

They ruled exactly that. They pointed out that the Constitution (10th amendment) said that any power that wasn't given to the Fed govt by the Constitution, was reserved to the States or the People. That means that the Fed govt can't exercise that power.

The power to make laws about abortion, is one of those.

Looks like an awful lot of memos are being missed by the Democrat fanatics in the last few weeks.

Are you two trying to join Joe in the "banned from Twitter" dungeon for distributing false information about an important issue?

I missed it too.

Don't doubt their creativity to somehow enforce this in a backhanded way.

You mean STATE legislatures. Because the Fed does not have that power.

I don't doubt it for a minute. This is the same administration that labeled covid as lethal as anthrax under OSHA and the SC ruled on that one.

Have to appreciate a person who fights for the rights of the majority of the people.

And yes, there are THREE branches of government in America for a reason. If a clown can pack the court, a reasonable person can certainly propose legislation.
