Several cars used to have a code to open the door that a drunk could not open.
I just checked my state law. First and second offenses are misdemeanors. Six months in jail, a couple thousand in fines. Having a kid in the car and other kinds of operating a vehicle will get you a felong conviction. Then your license is gone the jail time and fines are way higher.

It's not shocking that Biden chooses to (continually) lie about the details around the death of his first wife. She wasn't the 'victim' in that situation, she was the reason the accident happened.
