Thread title: "......millionaires on the Hill". Not ".....non-elected millionaires on the Hill". Which one of those words is unclear to you, speaking of intelligence?
Did you click on the database. I looked at the article of course and it does not contain any information or data on elected officials.
I go beyond the bold title most of the time and actually look at details before I post. Years of working in business, hard habit to break of checking before I react.
Seems like that kind checking isn't done by you.
Ever notice that on this forum the titles are often inflammatory and then the meat in the sandwich is far less so?
Reading a title doesn't give you the information to post - obviously.
But start another thread on what elected officials net worth is if that is your primary interest.
fyi,
on the hill is often for staff or lobbyist but I can see how you could be confused.
NO ONE would ever say "non-elected millionaires on the Hill" for example. I have never heard that term used.
Competence...are you kidding me? We're $30.5T in debt, highest inflation in 40 years, we funded a pandemic, have a senile President, unsecure border, our cities are crapholes, our education system is tumbling down the global ranks, our healthcare system is unaffordable, we can't produce the rare Earth minerals, meds, or computer chips we need, our media's untrustworthy, Congresses approval rating is <20%, our gov't selectively enforces our laws....how many more cases of incompetence do you need?
These failed Ivy League Lawyer millionaires are destroying America, and stealing from us all while doing so.
You think our ecenomy would be better if it was in the hands of cab drivers and cashiers and line order burger flippers?
Just curious -- who do you think that $30T is owed to?
This. Especially in the DC area. Pretty much everyone I know who is over 50 or so is a millionaire - many are multi-millionaires. I have a friend who owns his own business. He's the only employee and it's hard physical labor. His wife a Federal government employee. They bought their house in 1994 for $250K. It's now worth about $900K. They've always invested at least 15% of their income. You'd never know it by looking at them, but they're net worth is over $3M. Hard work, being frugal, and a commitment to savings is all it took.

You obviously do NOT run with the same crowed most who live there do!
big money funneled from unknown billionaires has infiltrated our political establishment, we need to wake up and see it for what it is.

So, you DON'T think the multi rich of old, like the Rockefeller's, Astor, DuPont, Rothschild, etc., had any "influence" in politics?
