You just picked a fight on one of my favorite topics.
Scientific agreement = "the groups that are getting the money are all agreeing that they want to keep getting money to say that we can control the weather".
.... which we can't.
And we are NOT going to hand control (our lifestyle, our cars, our freedom to travel, our money) over to the new world order, so we can 'save the planet'. As George Carlin said -- the planet is doing just fine, it's been here 4 billion years.
Man will never control the climate, even though your side is doing it's best to fool the masses.
The funny part of you quoting Carlin is that he said the planet will shake us off like a parasite. That's kinda what we are trying to avoid.
campaign contributions from shell corporations. politics as a lifelong career. being a media personality. solution: vote out all incumbents. vote for candidates with low campaign funds.
Most politicians that reach a certain level are all prostitutes. They sell their hineys to the highest bidder. They are supposed to represent their constituents and work for the people. However in real life, big money corrupts. Politicians are given a choice to play the game, accept the bribes to set up their families for life and represent big corporations or be seen as an outcast with a guarantee that your political future will be an uphill battle.
Most politicians take the money.
I truly believe that. I’ve seen it locally with people I know. Got into public leadership and the switch flipped. The players learn where the dark curtain is. The few who refuse, get dogged by their peers.
I'm not sure "mistake" is the word you are looking for. A mistake is something you do inadvertently, or something that has consequences you don't intend, etc. What you are looking for is something actually more problematic - what are the things you dislike most about politicians. For me. probably the top 5 would be:
Not making the national debt a top priority
Hypocrisy
Toxic partisanship
Lying or speaking in disregard of whether they have the facts
Overstaying their welcome
I call it, the things pollsters never ask the people they poll so how do the politicians know they're making a mistake/blowing it.
Ever get a survey that asks "Do you get too much political junk mail scrounging for contributions?" or "Do you get too much political junk mail scrounging for contributions from politicians from other states?" or "Do you think there are too much, too little or just enough Ethics hearings?" Or, "Does not having a term limits law bother you, a lot, a little or not at all?"
Elected officials work for us. We elected them or at least cheated them in. Talk to us. Be accountable. Answer our questions. Don't ignore us. Look at your approval ratings and if very low, reevaluate what you are doing and make changes. Connect with the people.
It seems like half the politicians barely bother to represent their constituents. Of the many politicians who appear to be giving it a shot, most are still caught up in their party's scrips. A Democratic congressman will try to represent the Dems in their district - and the Dems only. The opposite is true of Republican congressmen. I live in Lauren Boebart's district and I get all her e-mails talking about what she has gotten done and plans to get done in the future. The problem is that she can't resist going off on diatribes about how totally and completely evil the Dems are - music to the ears of many here, I'm sure. The problem is that she and all the rest of the elected Congressional Representatives are supposed to represent ALL the people in her district. Then again, Boebart and the many Congressional representatives on both sides of the aisle just hate having to represent constituents who happen to be members of "the wrong party."
