That was true long time ago. Nowadays low class has money. You can't buy class with money.
People discovered that they can act stupid (many just stopped pretending) without any repercussions. Internet enabled them even more.
Everything now goes and stupid or attention seeking is the new cool.
First and foremost, for people that have the nerve to call other people trash, based on ones own personal ideology and upbringing, there are always people out there that will consider you to be some sort of "trash" even if you don't see it yourself. But I digress...
If you want to avoid the crowd that you seek, it's pretty simple actually. Spend more money, visit small towns that are filled with art galleries, expensive shops, and pricy bed and breakfast type of lodging. Take an expensive cruise to the arctic. In a nutshell, spend more money and stay a little off the beaten path. Find destinations that typically appeal to an older clientele.
This is one reason I like the concept of HOAs.. I enjoy clean, quiet, responsible individuals around me... I don't want barking dogs, loud motorcycles at 6AM, junk in people's yards. Sometimes human beings need a little discipline to keep them in check. HOAs can vet the quality of the individuals moving in there and make sure the "troublemakers" stay out. Not everyone is considerate to those around them... some are only concerned about themselves.
I don't care about having the HOA's dictating every detail that one has to do to conform. My town has laws about what they can park , can't have items around the house that trash it up, etc. but we can have enough freedom to plant what tree and where, what color to paint our homes etc.

Ever hear of rich trashy people. Hunter Biden is an example. Money doesn't clean up people. The most moral people can be the very poor.
