Congress "must pass" new immigration laws, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Sunday while defending the administration's policies amid renewed scrutiny of the high amount of migration at the southern border.

"Because the border has been a challenge for decades, ultimately Congress must pass legislation to once and for all fix our broken immigration system," Mayorkas told ABC "This Week" co-anchor Martha Raddatz.

In other words he's calling for aother amnesty even though he won't say it. How does that fix anything? it will just encourage more illegal aliens to come here for the next amnesty. We've tried this before and it failed. We need to put some respect back into our immigration laws and amnesty has the opposite effect. Our immigration laws are not broken they just haven't been enforced like they should be. Of course Mayorkas and Biden don't want that they want all of these illegals in our country instead. He and Biden talk out of both sides of their mouths. Don't come, wink, wink.

There is NOT one word about amnesty in that article. And Mayorkas acknowledged that Congress is unlikely to do any thing on immigration. He did say this:

Quote:
In lieu of new laws, "we have a multi-faceted approach, not only to work with our partner countries but to bring law enforcement to bear to attack the smuggling organizations in an unprecedented way," he said. "We are doing so very much."
Would be nice to discuss what the article was actually about.

Anyone have ideas in what Mayorkas meant by "work with our partner countries but to bring law enforcement to bear to attack the smuggling organizations?"

Here come the green cards. That's what Kamala promised them...green cards and expedited path to citizenship.

The only thing broke about our borders is D.C., lack of proper enforcement.

Maybe these are further along then we think. Maybe he's putting this out there to get the outrage over and done with.

Right. No laws or new laws won't change anything. Illegal trespassing will happen no matter what. Desperate people will continue risking their lives.

Odd considering that our southern Border was the most secure it had been in 35 years.......until Biden took Office.

Why do leftists keep repeating “we need new immigration law”?

What’s the point of creating new law when you don’t even enforce current immigration law? How about let’s start there
