Let me put it to you like this, you walk to the store for bread, milk, whatever, minding your own business, committing no crimes, your completely OK with getting stopped and searched? Really?
Plus, there's the innuendo that you did something wrong when the people in the town who know you see you get frisked by the police in public. What if you are one of the blessed people who are employed and your boss sees that?

Yes, I did just that. I pled not guilty and the judge immediately found me guilty and fined me an extra $30 for not lying against myself and pleading guilty. So, I have to pay almost $200 for something that I didn't do. The judge sides with the cop every time even when it's their word against yours and the cop doesn't even have to hand over the dash cam.

About a month later I was pulled over again and given a ticket for not wearing my seat belt while I was wearing my seat belt. He makes the remark that I "can go to court and fight it if you want to."

Over eleven years of harassment that will never stop.

It doesn't surprise me.

Romans 13 and the promises within are broken often.

Oh my God. That is horrible.

There's been little children killed or maimed by the cops all over the country and they were never held accountable even though in some cases they even had the wrong address.

Not only that, some states, allow banishment of some criminals. This means said criminals could end up anywhere, including Hawaii. Some officials might give someone a one-way ticket out, and it could be anywhere.

True. What do said persons expect people like us to do?
I am an independent. I don't go according to party lines. I will say this. If we have criminals committing violent crimes now, it's too little too late. Those persons needed to be reached when they were babies. They became criminals because of their failed homes, getting guidance from the streets. I often wonder how many of those persons would have benefitted from being removed from said families (like at 1 day old) and put up for adoption.

The blame-shifters are trivializing the issue by telling you to save your lost brethren by doing what ... playing sports with them? Telling them about your job and how you got where you are? Listening to their problems? That's all good enough stuff but when they don't even have the foundation of civility to listen to you or give you any respect at all for your accomplishments and instead see you as some sort of traitor then what? They're too far gone at that point. They were raised by wolves and lack such fundamental basics as manners, respect for elders, a recognition that rules matter, that education matters, impulse control and a rejection of violence. Only family can solve that and I don't know how to fix "the family" issue. You start by doing the best you can for your own.
The blame shifters aren't even saying those things. They're just saying "do something". Do what? They don't have any solutions. They just lack empathy and for that reason, blame shifting is what gets done.

How do you deal with individuals who are so far gone that they will even fight with ARMED police officers? How do you undo the damage of being raised in anger, violence, and hopelessness? Outside of being drafted into the military (I think that the military would reject half of those persons. Possibility of undiagnosed mental and physical health issues. In the ghettos few go to doctors).

It takes a strong family to instill some strong values. However, this would take alot of leading from outside. And currently, the underclass/thug culture has pretty much broken off into its own world.

You didn't get a ticket because

1. Cop was fishing for something more
2. Cop had already made quota that mth.

Lets see how it goes next time he pulls you over...

I am a gun owner. I also like being left alone when I am out and about. I don't want my 2nd Amendment rights being violated because someone feels uncomfortable with me. I don't want my 4th Amendment rights being violated because of someone looking at me with suspicion.

I do a bit of traveling. One thing I think about is the possibility of being pulled over, particularly if I am in a town I've never been to. I try not to attract alot of attention from police officers or anyone else. I also tend to keep a gun with me when I travel. It's my right and I want to protect myself. I don't want to get pulled over and then get asked if I have a weapon.

I think about another thread from a few years ago. Someone advocated pulling people over based on having out of state license plates.

This is the thread in question: https://www.city-data.com/forum/poli...l#post57010042

It is something I think about. I think "don't stand out much and the police won't pull you over". I also consider that there are places I might go, such as some small towns, where I could be the only Black person. I will stick out just on my presence. For that reason to need to keep it 100%, and not stand out much.
