In the inner city, yes. Those have been happening since the 80s.

What we see today is the result of a "defund or disband the police" culture by the woke.

Biden signs police reform executive order on anniversary of George Floyd’s murder

The executive order signed on Wednesday directs federal agencies to revise use-of-force policies, banning tactics such as chokeholds, restricting practices like no-knock warrants and promoting de-escalation techniques

It also calls for the creation of a new national standard for accrediting police departments; establishes a national database to track police misconduct; further restricts the transfer of military equipment to police departments; and requires agencies to implement new tools to screen for inherent bias among officers as well as recruits, including those who promote unlawful violence or harbor white supremacist views.

This isn’t a new phenomenon and it’s not under Biden.

It’s neither Dems or Repubs. This is clearly an American problem.

If one looks up the history of mass shootings, it doesn't matter who was in office; poor parenting is of greater blame.

It's a criminal problem. Law abiding people don't break the law.

There is actually some stuff going around on social media that claims that we didn't have any mass shootings when Trump was in office. I've actually seen that claim a time or two on C-D.

So to refresh everybody's memory.

During Trump's years in office we had...

Las Vegas, NV (concert) 61 dead.
Sutherland Springs, Tx (church) 26 dead
Parkland HS, Fl (school) 17 dead
Santa Fe HS, Tx (school) 10 dead
Synagogue, Pittsburgh, Pa 11 dead
Thousand Oaks, Ca (restaurant) 12 dead
Va Beach, Va (office building) 12 dead
El Paso, Tx (Walmart) 22 dead

And these are just the ones that reached double figures. As far as frequency, I didn't include (for example). that the El Paso shooting happened right on the heels of a shooting in Dayton, Ohio.

Now of course, the righties on this board blame Biden and the Democrats for the shootings now. And guess what, they blamed the Democrats for the shootings then.

Other than the Texas tower shootings in 1966 these mass shootings got their start during the Reagan era. But I imagine it was all Tip O'Neills fault of course.

Default Monkey see, monkey do

Liberals have shown there is no rule of law. Soros has funded liberal DA's who do not prosecute criminals and let them out. The southern border is bringing in illegal drugs, MS13 gang members and terrorists. The Biden administration doesn't do anything about breaking the law....monkey see, monkey do.

I don't consider most inner city shootings to be mass shootings. These are mostly drug dealers fighting each other over their drug turf.

It has nothing to do with this "defund or disband the police" culture, unless you have evidence that the Highland Park, Ulvalde, Buffalo, Sacramento, San Jose, Dayton, El Paso, and Virginia Beach mass shootings were caused by this culture.

Here is a list of mass shootings in the U.S. Show me the last mass shooting that had anything to do with anything that you listed.

Well sure. "Guns" are the easy target. Addressing their cultural issues would require a tougher conversation that they're not willing to have.

The continued enforcement of mask and vax mandates coupled with remote learning helped build up a lot of rage. And like a prisoner who has nothing to do but thing about escape or revenge on those they blame for being there so did many a youth, gangster, criminal or malcontents think about what they would do or how they would handle things once free.

The lockdowns perpetuated a lack of coping skills which many already had going into the virus with tech obsession. No coping skills no non violent resolutions-impulse and emotion only.

Mass shootings aren’t new. Remember the slang term “going postal”? Overworked and over stressed postal worker snaps and goes to work shooting up the place. Studies were done to find and address the issues which led to reforms to combat such stress and working conditions. Many of today’s mass shootings have been young people. Many of them don’t have jobs but they do have other forms of stress that they weren’t mentally able to deal with responsibly. Constant school bullying (both at school and at home via social media), dysfunctional family home, social isolation, and or bombardment of negative news and world events. Their time on earth is so short that it feels like it’s never been this bad before and they feel like they have no one to turn to. As a teenager in the 80s we didn’t have social media nor a life “online”. The school bullying ended once school ended and we were home. News came into the home with the morning newspaper and in 30 minute segments in the morning, noon, late afternoon, and once again in the evening. When something bad was on the news the family was watching together in the living room and our parents could give us perspective on the bad news. We lived in constant fear of the Soviet Union starting a nuclear war. We rode bicycles, we played outside, we visited friends and family at their homes or in our homes. We didn’t realize it at the time but those activities gave us the calming effects of time in the sun, exercise, and a feeling of belonging to a social community.

Given that it's too late to ban them, at least ban sales of high capacity magazines.

Keep in mind that I tend to be conservative, but this sort of thing has gotten out of hand.
I'm a conservative too, & I'd agree w/ you on the AR's & high capacity magazines...if I trusted the gov't more than I do.

The Government is:

-taking over the private sector economically, & socially

-imperiling our currency

-selectively prosecuting our laws upon themselves, & the public...no "justice for all' or 'equal penalty under the law"

-colluding with Big Biz against the people, & small business

-allowing millions of illegal invaders to enter our country...many criminals

-funding gain-on-function viruses IN CHINA & WITH CHINA whose only purpose is to kill people...us?

-invading our privacy using technology (see Edward Snowden)

I think the private sector & small biz needs to be armed, until Big Gov+Big Biz stops attacking our rights & freedoms, & marching towards socialism.
