100,000 drug overdose deaths last year. If you want to play a numbers game and you can find a way to save just 15% of these people, that is the equivalent of wiping out all murdrers, suicides, and accidental deaths from guns.

So much focus from the Left on death from guns and not any other sources. Why is that?

We do not have a problem with gun violence so much as homicidal gang-banging thug violence. And yes, that can't be changed except to lock them up and throw away the key.

Every time the Left passes laws to achieve a goal, it fails wildly to produce the projected savings.

The Left doubles taxes and projects a doubling in tax collections. What happens? People leave the state, or work less, or work under the table, or barter instead of working for cash. Tax collections creep up rather than seeing the "expected" surge. Complete fail but causes all kinds of negative unanticipated consequences.

"Save 15,000 lives". Complete and total bullcrap.

These draconian "reforms" would maybe directly save 500 lives when all was said and done, while adding an unknown number of deaths for new reasons due to unanticipated consequences.

Liberals and Leftists think in Utopian idealistic terms where their pie-in-the-sky dreams work perfectly on paper, and barely at all in the real world.

Not exclusively. Liberals cleaned up the environment. The Los Angeles basin is no longer under a cloud of choking brown smog and you can't light Lake Erie on fire anymore. We have liberals to thank for that. Conservatives and the GOP certainly were not going to fix the environment.

But when all is said and done, Liberals and Leftists are Utopian dreamers who's idealist solutions mostly fail when put to the test of real world dynamics where real people adjust to the new laws and restrictions with end runs and work-arounds.

Because human nature never changes. Culture changes, and you either have a moral culture with honorable people behaving with courtesy and manners to others and living by the golden rule, or you have a selfish culture of do whatever I want, take what I can, and to hell with others.

All of the well-intended laws in the world can't fix the rotten culture.

I would look at historical MURDER RATES, broken down by geographic distribution, race/ethnicity, income, circumstances, etc. That would provide a better picture.

The slippery slope begins.

We need to push back.

Guns should be provided at baby showers so the infant will have one in their crib. They are inanimate objects that could easily take the place of a pacifier.

Gun stores and Gun shows should be able to sell booze, drugs along with other weapons to make more convenient shopping for those who are out to purchase a gun.

Gun sales should be completely anonymous. You should be able to wear a ski mask into the gun store if you want. You should be able to write out your order if you don't want the gun store employee to hear your voice. In fact, it might be better if gun store employees were hearing and visually impaired. They shouldn't be able to identify or recognize the gun buyer.

That would show those commie lib gun grabbers.
None of which would turn law-abiding gun owners into violent homicidal gang-banging thugs. You are joking, but even if we implemented your ridiculous list, it would not cause a single additional death or injury by a single honest law-abiding gun owner.

Fact.

LOLZ because they cant wait 3 years to do mass shooting. They likely developing mental illness all their lives and they cant wait a measly three years. Those 3 years likely just add to the already brewing mental illness.

The Highland Park murderer just had his Dad cosign for him because he was under 21, and all of his obvious extreme and well-known mental illness didn't stop that.

Please explain it to us!
We have 20,000 gun laws that are failing to reign in slaughter by violent homicidal gang-banging thugs and other criminals, but the next 4 laws will succeed where the current 20,000 laws failed.

Critical analysis is not their strong suit.

A few people have asked the OP to explain his "solution" that would save 15,000 lives.

The OP vanished from the thread and has not been seen since.

U.S. Murder rates from 1960-2019. https://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm

The highest the murder rate got during that time period was 10.2 per 100,000, in 1980. In 2014, the murder rate was 4.4 per 100,000, the lowest for the time period of 1960-2019. From 2000-2019, the murder varied between 4.4 per 100,000 and 5.7 per 100,000.

This is something to really consider.
