Are you ok with that thought?

What do you consider "an extreme view"?

Let's keep religion out of the schools.

Well if the Koran teaches something similar to the 10 Commandment then sure why not.

Kids need rules to live by. Imagine if people would do something as basic as to STOP stealing from each other. This country would be a better place. We can tackle the Thou Shalt Not Kill another time...

Of course in many of the countries that are Muslim they treat their criminals A LOT differently then we do in this country. I have an inlaw that lives in Dubai and even married couples are not allowed to hold hands in public, the young men are required to pull up their pants and the young women cannot run around half naked like they do here. No one wears their pajamas to the store.

I do not think any one religion should be taught in a public school but the kids would be served well to be made aware of the diversity of religion.

So is common sense a “thing”. But you have the wrong country Comrade, the United States of America was absolutely created as a Christian nation, and still is, in spite of your left wing communists who have dominated the education system for the past 50 years, and have slowly brainwashed some of you into believing it isn’t.

One big clue that defeats this leftist lie is the fact that there are approximately 50 times as many Christian congregations in the United States as there are 7/11 convenience stores, and you can hardly throw a rock without hitting a 7/11 store, LOL

Somewhere between 65-70% of Americans self identify as Christians. That leaves a paltry 30% which make up all of the other faiths, like Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and several others.

Now, if you said we don’t have a Christian government, I would be forced to agree with you, since so many of those serving our Government behave in a manner more fitting of members of Anton Levay’s Church of Satan.

Maybe that’s what you meant to say?

That's so extreme that the governor won't even sign on to it.

"Basically, anyone can educate a child." That's quite an extreme view.

You don't know the history of prayer in the schools. It came down along factional Christian lines. Previously, Christian schools for Catholics had even been illegal in one state. Plus, the Jews objected because so much of the teaching was on the New vs. the Old Testament. There are enough different types of Christians in this country to make it impossible to favor Christian education.

Remember, the snake handlers and the Santeria folks are 'Christian', too.

Sorry I wasn't clear, but I meant the founding fathers intended for a secular state, for the purpose of religious freedom. Not that USA doesn't/didn't comprise mostly of Christians. If Judaism became the dominant religion, I wouldn't call it a "Jewish country".
