not too familiar with their power issues but from what i understand had to do with not being prepared for extreme weather on their infrastructure. yes, republicans are people too and aren’t perfect, but still TX is better to live in than CA.

And you seem interested in NOT holding them accountable.

ISOs, like the one in Texas, are independent non-profits regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

"The President appoints one of the commissioners to be the chairman of FERC, the administrative head of the agency. FERC is a bipartisan body; no more than three commissioners may be of the same political party."

Greg Abbott has a burning desire to be President, and he will be a contender in 2024. And it's questionable if he can get his act together before that time, otherwise he'll be just laughed at during his campaign.

You may have missed this important part from ERCOT:
Quote:
The transmission grid that the ERCOT independent system operator administers is located solely within the state of Texas and is not synchronously interconnected to the rest of the United States. The transmission of electric energy occurring wholly within ERCOT is not subject to the Commission's jurisdiction under sections 203, 205, or 206 of the Federal Power Act.
Thats the point actually, this is VERY specifically not covered by FERC. That whole bipartisan stuff you talk about, its not for them.

Texas infrastructure is struggling with severe suburban sprawl and a booming population. The state has some oil, but it will eventually need to scrap the suburbs, build sustainable communities, and send the carpetbaggers on their way to other states.

Texas likes to go their own way and if it means their residents freeze to death or sweat to death they're fine with that..

To escape the heat in Las Vegas, twice I flew to L.A. to cool off, and I picked 2 bad times, with the temp of 100+ degrees in downtown L.A.! Add in humidity, it was unbearable.

Winter along the coast can be mighty miserable!

Same concept as Democratic states defunding the Police and having their residents suffer due to crime.

Ah yes, the four seasons of California: needles, feces, Pelosi and taxes.
