Walmart can produce many products at the 1/3 of the cost, and also at a lower quality, and thinking Walmart is comparable to many quality products isn’t reality…and there’s obviously more than bras in Victorias Secret…and as the saying goes, “go woke go broke”. Funny how businesses haven’t realized it yet.
Unfortunately, shutting it down and living in fear put the nail in many businesses coffins.
Perhaps people buy brand names to say that they have the brand name. I think that price is secondary to the name. And I guess those who once bought the Victoria Secret name aged out and their children are buying Rihanna's brand name a decade after her last big hit songs. And in a decade a new pop star will supplant her name and her stores will start closing.

Like every other instance of the “get woke go broke” pattern, Victoria’s Secret decided to abandon its concentration on feminine beauty and empowerment through femininity in order to embrace LGBT sentiments and transgenderism.
Last year Victoria's Secret went in to the equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the UK, although they are now supposedly out of bankruptcy.
Victoria's Secret has a lot of UK competition in the UK from retailers such as Agent Provocateur and Ann Summers.
GAP is another that was struggling in the UK and has now disappeared from the UK after several decades and having established itself as a well known brand, and I am sure that home grown clothing groups such as Next will be happy to take GAP's market share.
Abercrombie and Fitch have also had well documented problems, and are currently trying to reinvent themselves, having closed a number of retail outlets. Lets hope they don't go too woke or it will be the end got them as well.
As for expanding women's chains H-Beauty which is part of Harrods (London) has opened a number of sizeable outlets in the UK and is still expanding, whilst Harvey Nicholas and Fenwick are also high end chains that sell a lot of exclusive women's wear.

Victoria's Secret has a lot of competition in the UK from more unwoke retailers such as Agent Provocateur and Ann Summers.

When you say expanding women's chains..did you mean stores for expanding women? Or the increase of actual stores? And sizeable outlets? I suppose it all in the measurement thought.
When I see ads for lingerie or swimsuits I don't want to see fat, or male, or something alien looking because of "nonbinary" ideologies. VS is fantasy females, that it's brand. But it can do what it want's and is no skin off my nose since I'm not a stakeholder.

LOL - I mean chains that seem to be coping well and expanding outlets and not fatties.
No one wants an expanding woman, although you can probably get a blow up one at Ann Summers, as they tend to also cater for the more kinky clients and have a wide selection of sex toys, or so I am told.

Really not seeing any proof that they're struggling because of what is being claimed.
Pretty much we have a biased "news" article and then a bunch of partisans essentially saying it must be true because we believe it.
Now don't get me wrong, I know companies embracing certain topics can damage brand or customer loyalty with their actions and I always say vote with your wallet.
I just don't know if it's what's actually driving their problems.
