How about just detonating a large explosion like happened when Krakatoa blew in the 1800's? (Or somewhat smaller)

Easy peasy, problem solved, Immediate global cooling.

We could raise taxes so we could afford to place the moon in geostationary orbit between the planet earth and the sun. What could go wrong with that idea?

lets see i believe a lot more people die from cold related death then heat(1.3 mill vs 350k, based on a quick google search)so sure lets cool down the Earth and kill even more.

This 'Space Bubble' shield could counter the effects of climate change by reflecting the sun's rays

Architect Carlo Ratti is among a group of MIT researchers exploring the feasibility of fighting climate change with a conglomeration of "space bubbles" that would float above the Earth to reflect the sun's rays.

...
Developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Space Bubbles is a variation on the common geoengineering idea of a solar shield, which would work by blocking out some of the incoming solar radiation to theoretically reduce the effects of global warming.

A key difference, however, is that with a space-based sun shield, there should be no risk of interfering with the Earth's biosphere. Projects deployed within the Earth's stratosphere do run this risk.

Let me get this straight... you are trying to block out a portion of the sun's rays, and expect there to be no interference with the biosphere. Yeah - let me know how that works.

What has escaped these booksmart eggheads is that the overall goal of cutting the carbon will damage the biosphere. What does plant life take in for them to breathe? CO2. If they cut CO2 on the earth, plant life will diminish. If plant life diminishes, less oxygen will be put out for the utopians.
Next, they’ll be proposing motion pictures, and movies with sound … and Color Television … oh wait … we have had those for a long time now.

And they have already been blocking the sun for decades, too. This isn’t a new idea. This is called “predictive programming”, and they do use media, movies, TV and yes … adult cartoons to implant their messages. That we even have adult cartoons is indicative of a major problem with our society.

Of course, the sheep all believe these are condensation trails from commercial jets. But, commercial aircraft flight patterns don’t intersect and crisscross in the skies like that, because it would be insanely dangerous, and lead to daily air tragedies. Also, condensation trails rapidly dissipate and do not linger in the sky for hours, and spread out to create a totally overcast sky from clear blue sky.

Chemtrails, ladies and gentlemen, are not conspiracy theories, because you can’t photograph a theory. And, bioweapons aren’t just delivered by injection, for those with curious minds who want to know.

I'm very skeptical of this idea; it's a bandaid, not a fix. Cooling the planet this way provides a license for corporations to pump out ever more greenhouse gasses, followed by more cooling with an even larger sunshade. An endless cycle. When your sunshade malfunctions and moves off station from its dynamically unstable halo orbit of L1, the heat kicks in and you get rapid global warming.

They stole this idea from Highlander II. It doesn't work out in the movie. LOL.

They could install a sort of beach tent out in the galaxy that would be held up by metal rods that will be affixed to Mercury and Venus, that could be remote controlled to open and close for different hemispheres of the Earth. So in the summer they could close the tent, with pourous material so that the sun does come in, just not to such high temperatures, and in the winter they could open it all the time.

(Please send me a check if this idea gets off the ground.)

Also in the winter, they could add, reflectors on Venus and Mercury, that will reflect the sun's rays and serve as second and third mini-suns, for those areas where the climate is -70 F, they can then rise it to 40-45 F.

(Again if this idea works, this page is proof to my lawyers.)

Maybe wacky Joe will call the fire department and tell them there is a raging inferno on the sun and they better go up there and put it out. That should take care of the global warming thing for awhile...
