CNN is a complete cesspool and full of left wing craziness, but this lawsuit has as much chance of succeeding as Trump does of winning the Presidency back. ZERO!
He is trying to make news. Get people talking about him again. It's what he does.
Trump doesn’t need to make TDS talk about him. They’ve been talking about him since before he won the election in 2016 and continue today. When has TDS ever stopped mentioning his name including here on CD?
I thought it would end after Biden became POTUS. TDS never ended. His haters can’t stop talking about him. And there’s still no vaccine for TDS even after all these years. Perhaps some relief could come with $6 gas and/or a Merlot enema.
Well, thank goodness our legal system is built on facts and not on "subjective belief".
Proving defamation of a public figure is no easy task. Trump's crack(pot) legal team would have to prove actual malice on top of proving that CNN's statements were untrue.
Did Trump lose the election because of voter fraud? No. Trump's assertions are false.
Is it malicious to call Trump out as a liar when he asserts voter fraud? A slim chance, but context matters. "The Big Lie" was promoted by more people than just Trump, so he holds no water there in proving actual malice.
Both.
CNN has ran multiple articles and stories the past year using the verbiage “Trump was behind the attempted coup” or some variation there of.
1) There was no attempted coup
2) It hasn’t been established that Trump was “behind” the events of January 6th, let alone a phantom coup attempt that CNN continues to allege as fact.
This case has standing. But liberal judges will protect them.

4 MAJOR Trump crimes here...(any "normal" person would get HUGE time for these)...1.)Obstruction of an official proceeding of congress, 2.)Conspiracy to defraud the United States, 3.)Seditious Conspiracy, and 4.)Wire Fraud

Several of those, according to the Constitution, means he cant hold office again. Some of his scams skate close to wire fraud. But his latest threats to CNN. I can already see his next scam. '' Defamation Defense Fund.'' He is so predictable.
Yeah, like the Duke Lacrosse players, Nick Sandmann, & Kyle Rittenhouse went nowhere; right? .
actually, no.
both those individuals are private citizens. the standard to win a defamation suit is higher for a public persona and even higher still for a US politician ( i've already cited devin nunes as an example ).
again, the testimony from trump's inner circle during the 01/06 hearings destroyed any possibility trump had of winning a defamation lawsuit on this point.
Nope, you do not "make a demand", you file the suit, and CNN could offer to settle. This usually happens before he starts soliciting money.
Depending on the state where the suit is filed, notice to the defendant prior to the suit may be required, although that would normally be a letter from an attorney. But, this is Trump, and in his world things seem to work differently.
