Blindsided veterans erupt in fury after Senate Republicans suddenly tank PACT Act

Blindsided veterans erupted in anger and indignation Thursday after Senate Republicans suddenly tanked a widely supported bipartisan measure that would have expanded medical coverage for millions of combatants exposed to toxic burn pits during their service.

Yet some Republican names always pop up on amnesty for illegal immigrants. Spending is way out of control but these vets need and should get these benefits. They need to fight harder to stop trillion dollar bs spending packages from passing. How many of these Republicans "compromised" on Build Back Better' crap. How's that "bipartisanship" looking now.

Can somebody explain exactly what all this is? Sounds like burn pits were done over seas and put out bad chemicals which I guess is causing health issues/cancer to veterans.

I saw on google that compensation ranges from $1k to $40k a year but not sure how accurate that is. Just curious why they would vote against it. I try and be careful on just believing what the media says.

Because it creates liability issues for companies that supplied chemicals and a financial responsibility the GOP doesn’t want to cover

Where is the money going to come from? Just going to print it up? Make it out of thin air? Or is Congress going to do the right thing and offset this increased spending with cuts elsewhere?

We absolutely must take care of those who were harmed in service to our country, but it should not be done in a way that further fuels inflation.

The worst thing about all this? The same ones who want this bill passed, are the same ones who send our sons and daughters to fight in undeclared, un Constitutional wars. They come back in pieces and NOW they want to help? Where were they when Congress and the President chooses to throw our military personnel into the fire in the first place?

If Democrats want to fund this, why not cut some of the other spending? I’m 100% for that.

Instead of wasting money for Ukraine, let’s give it to the veterans. Instead of wasting money on green energy, let’s give it to the veterans.

But implying that Republicans don’t care about veterans is wrong. You can’t save veterans, or anyone for that matter, if you continue to destroy the country with nonstop spending.

The few Republicans who always go along with the Democrats on their spending bills, they need to be voted out of office.
