So while we have easily determined this expenditure is worthy of discussion for many other reasons...the govt. is not secretly arming itself as some new anomaly.

Now if we had reasonable politicians who were less worried about scare mongering, misrepresenting the facts, we could have a real dialogue as to why the IRS needs LEO's....where there budget for that department is spent and why and costs vs. benefits analysis.

But nope...it becomes a deep dark conspiracy on the internet that the Democrat federal govt. is secretly arming itself....more info. manipulation that is rarely corrected.

My beef is Gaetz -- he either knows the truth and is playing his followers for puppets or he is so naive and ignorant he didn't bother to check to see what the history on this kind of expenditure is.

But you know....American voters love these games (yes both Republicans and Democrats).

Funny....at least until that becomes reality. With this bass ackwards society, who knows anymore.

Great question...one which I'm sure has got some on here tied in knots trying to find a way to explain it without proving how ridiculous they are.

And another one exposing the BS.

The order was for the IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) division, which is a federal law enforcement agency that conducts criminal investigations including tax violations, money laundering, cyber crimes, and organized crime involving drugs and gangs. There are more than 2,000 sworn special agents in the division.

“Many of these cases are typically worked in conjunction with other state and federal law enforcement agencies. IRS-CI special agents have been carrying firearms throughout the more than 100-year history of the agency, and have found themselves dealing with some of the most dangerous criminals,” an IRS spokesperson told VERIFY.

And remember: The only purpose for guns, is to kill people.

How many times have we been told that?

Still avoiding the fact that the purchase of ammunition for this is in keeping with the last 10 or more so years.

But have it.

Now is to collect. A few people own me money since High School. Time to start packing and pay a visit. I want a vest to go with the guns and tasers. "Saving Democracy"

Don't mess with these government employees, they mean business.

If you don't pay your taxes, boom, the IRS becomes your worst enemy. They want your money! The 30 trillion dollars is our credit card we suppose to pay off. Every American is liable for the deficit.

Gaetz is a fool and a sleazy one at that.

One of their specialties is public corruption. And, one of their fairly recent big cases, was taking down a kiddie porn website criminal by tracking his bitcoin transactions.

Wouldn't surprise me if they are involved in the investigation surrounding Gaetz regarding transporting underaged girls across state lines and sex for money.

He must be really stupid not to understand that the IRS would be following the money to criminals and might need guns to arrest, raid or seize property from said criminals.

Equallly stupid if he doesnt realize he can have his staff call IRS staff designated to deal with Congress critters and get VIP treatment to answer any question he has about IRS procedures/policies.

One can only conclude that he is grandstanding and peddling false conspiracy theories to his base. Seems to be going around among FL Republican politicians this week.
