Joe Manchin is going to cash in big on this deal. Payoffs. The American Way.

One Payoff in the Infrastructure Deal Is So Blatantly Corrupt That You Almost Have to Respect the Hustle

https://redstate.com/bonchie/2021/08...hustle-n420584

Enter Sen. Joe Manchin, who has been one of the key players in formulating and moving forward the infrastructure deal. Given that, you knew he’d be getting his palms greased. Even still, I’m not sure I expected it to be this blatant...

Leverage, not only was hoping for immediate favors he knew it could be leverage down the road. It's all about leverage ie the money, power, status and votes.

Sinema was leveraged by money/campaign donors

No doubt at all.. happens all the time and Americans pay the price. Great example of why we need term limits.

Cornhusker kickback and the Louisiana purchase gave us obamacare.

When deals this big are required to get support, count onthe deal being bad for America and not able to withstand discussion and argument..

Newsflash. Any deal done by politicians, Dem or Rep always amounts to some hustle involved. So much waste in our government. It's a shame clean bills that would help the environment and infrastructure or any need for that matter, can't be passed. Don't know of hardly one in history.

Whatever happened to the infrastructure bill anyway?

I haven't noticed any difference in America's infrastructure since it was passed. Go figure.

The Appalachian Region, as defined by Congress, includes all of West Virginia and portions of 12 other states: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. ARC serves 420 counties that encompass roughly 205,000 square miles (530,000 km2), with a population of more than 25 million people.

The Appalachian Regional Commission has 14 members: the governors of the 13 Appalachian states and a federal co-chair, who is appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. A professional staff carries out the work of the Commission.

Gayle Manchin was appointed last AprilI think and Senate confirmed her position. Seems that billion dollars is divided among all of the 'members of the commission. So yeah can you imagine 14 of the 50 states are getting a big payoff. UGH Don't you think all those Governors should refuse to take the money --- lol.

Not to venture too far off topic, but Obamacare saved us and millions of others. So there is that. Now whether this bill will do the same, time will tell.

Repeal the 17th Amendment and put term limits on senators. Sounds good to me. Leave our House alone. If I want to vote for someone but can't due to an artificial, arbitrary limit on their service, my vote has been disenfranchised. I'm not giving up rights to try and solve for corruption in government. That's an insane strategy. They'll just get more corrupt and you'll keep giving away your political power. Silly idea.
