We are spending billions on the illegal alien invasion, and provide billions in foreign aid, which I doubt those countries do this. It is the giving that keeps our country in need, while enriching other countries, and their economic illegal immigrants that enter our country, hands out expecting the freebies they heard about.

I am thinking if the USA isn't good enough for one, maybe they should pack up and go live in one of those dream countries they fantasize about!

Comparing apples and oranges will go nowhere!

Well, you are correct, although I would not phrase it in such harsh terms.

As stated, Denmark has a Culture of Consensus. While there is disagreement, generally everyone believes in a high tax/high benefit society. So it goes.

American has a Culture of Diversity. There is little if any agreement. Many would be fine paying more taxes for more benefits so long as its the other guy who pays!

This is the near-opposite of what they have in Denmark which leads many of us to astonishment as to why they are touted.

Because their middle class is willing to pay 40-60% in taxes. They aren’t living like our middle class is in huge homes, blasting AC, multiple cars and trucks, small businesses etc. They’re renting townhomes giving the majority of their income to government. Also, there’s very little waste and fraud in their system because it’s a small homogeneous place. Much easier to manage.

People are just having a conversation , don't feel defensive now.
There are beautiful parts to both countries.

if you'd move for a 7% improvement, your baseline must be very low.

There are union grocery bagger jobs in the US that pay similar.

I have no issue with any of this, until people try to pull a fast one and claim that it barely adds anything to the costs by pointing to one item on the menu and then comparing to something that isn't quite equivalent.

In the latest attempt of this often repeated trope, they tried to compare the 22 to US minimum wage as if that is what the workers are actually being paid.

Blantant dishonest comparisons destroy this whole mess before it even gets off the ground.
can't win the point or rile up the base with the truth.

everything in your post - thanks by the way - can be boiled down to this:

the only people that want the government taking even 1/4 of the production of their country are Socialist "Democrats" or worse. (or the inverse, whatever AOC and the EU countries call themselves).

Yes, if you believe in "government, please take care of me" then this method is right up your alley.

I like the Swiss people like many other people in the world but their system is not compatible with ours. Why compare?

I love a Lambos and Ferraris but they are incompatible to me for everyday driving and maintenance cost and practicality for the family unless you are very rich and live in a bubble. Why compare?
