Maybe some people don't know the difference between pedophiles and drag queens, or any of the LGBT folks, or books.
The problem is gay activists are never satisfied. They're like gun control zealots that way.
First, they wanted to be left alone.
Then they wanted to be able to be intimate in public.
Then they wanted gay literature in public libraries.
And then in high schools.
And then in middle schools.
And then in elementary schools.
And then they wanted drag queen exhibitions in public libraries.
And then they wanted drag queen exhibitions in elementary schools off hours.
What's next?
At this point, if you don't support and promote the gay agenda 100% you're homophobic.
If you criticize the gay agenda and gays in any way it's hate speech.
If LBGT activists keep pressing their agenda on children, there will be a very violent and ugly reaction at some point. LBGT activists have convinced themselves that the Twitter ecosystem is the real world. They are in for a big surprise if they keep grooming children.
The majority of that town doesn't want to become woke. Their choice.
Good choice. Pretending that 1% of the population's proclivities is a majority opinion is simply propaganda.

What's wrong with people just not liking that sort of stuff in their libraries?
They're not into it. What's the crime?
They shouldn't need to explain themselves.
If someone asked them to vote to include it or not, it's ok to say no, right? Otherwise why even ask?
Read, write, arithmetic, learn to socialize, that's what the earlier grades are for. Not a bunch of what's surely propaganda and gross descriptions of non normal lifestyles. I'd vote to defund the library at this point. Advocating and pushing an lbgqxyzabc++ lifestyle is NOT the library's job.
If people are against certain books, they should monitor what their children check out not attempt to ban books or defund the library. Practice a bit of personal responsibility when it comes to their precious snowflakes and don’t expect others to cater to your beliefs.
Especially for people claiming that it is violence when I don't cater to their belief that they are an opposite gender.
Exactly. Don’t check out books about Trans folks if it offends you. Maybe the Trans folks find books about Non Trans folks equally offensive, but you don’t see them trying to ban books because of it. I guess they’re smart enough to just not check them out.
It's interesting that not a leftist said "their vote, their choice" on this one when they quite often do caterwaul just that. What's your criteria?
Let me go ahead and answer that for you: if it's something I don't want and it's voted out, then I say, "our vote, our choice." On the other hand, if it's something that I want and it's voted out, then I say, "Oh my God, Jupiter just blew up, and you're a bunch of homophobes."
Residents ultimately voted 62% to 37% against a measure that would have raised property taxes by roughly $24 in order to fund the library.
Declining to increase funding is not defunding. The article keeps insinuating that the library *might* close, but does not explain where the funding went, as all that was voted against was an increase in taxes to fund the library. Something is fishy about this article…
Taxpayers should not be funding the purchase of child pornography, which is what ‘Gender Qu**r’ is, as it depicts and displays minors engaging in oral sex.

Having a vote on funding the library is fine. Having a vote to remove content some personally find offensive is not fine since everyone pays for the funding.
If idiots want to refuse to fund libraries because Little Johnny might see something they object to, well there’s no fixing stupid. Especially without libraries and books.
