Sounds like paranoid parents fearful that LGBT oriented books will groom their straight kids to become homosexuals and transsexuals.

Talk about willful ignorance.

When all those paranoid parents really have to do is not check out the books they object to.

This is what was voted on
Quote:
Residents ultimately voted 62% to 37% against a measure that would have raised property taxes by roughly $24 in order to fund the library,
Because some people put up some signs does not mean it didnt recieve funding 'because books', but their town, their choice.

The majority of that town doesn't want to become woke. Their choice.

Why does everything go strait to 'fear'! Phobia!

What's wrong with people just not liking that sort of stuff in their libraries?
They're not into it. What's the crime?
They shouldn't need to explain themselves.

If someone asked them to vote to include it or not, it's ok to say no, right? Otherwise why even ask?

That's quite a leap you just took there. Hope you don't hurt yourself on the landing.

Just as valid a leap as you calling them ignorant.

Maybe they don't like the idea of a dressed up freak with a phallic hanging off the front of his outfit reading to their Children

Sounds like a community choosing for themselves what should be available in their community.

As it should be.

We're one country.
We're 50 states.
We're 3,142 counties.
We're 19,502 cities.
We're countless townships, neighborhoods and communities.

Each is part of the whole, and each is also different.

What's right for your community may not be right for mine, and neither of us have the right to dictate to the other how they must run their community, city, county or state.
