The benefits of throwing the elite/rich a bone in the hopes that that will cause a domino effect of the less fortunate benefitting hasn't exactly worked. The Rich continue to hoard and the broke continue to stay broke. If this idea works than why does the income gap continue to widened?

I agree and have no idea why this outmoded strategy still exists.

The original name was "horses and sparrows" theory. If you feed your horses well, the sparrows get fatter. Just - don't think too much over what the sparrows have to actually eat.

The fact that people keep trying falsely claim that trickle down doesn't work... sort of validates that it does work. Otherwise they wouldn't have to keep kicking at it.

If trickle down doesn't work... what works?

Ah, the rising ire of the envy and greed crowd.

You do know that the socialist government is behind your penury - not the "elite" rich.
Aggregate taxes (local, state, and federal) take 44% of the GDP.
The government (federal) owns 28% of all land in the USA - about 2 acres per capita.
And yet they spend more, tax more, increase the debt ceiling, and it's whose fault that the debauched money buys less and less?
The Rich?
Yeah, right [/sarcasm]

To make matters worse, there are less than 2 taxpayers per recipient, and the recipient population is growing faster than the taxpayers, thanks to declining birthrate (an artifact of "glorious" socialism - and abortions killing off 60+ million potential taxpayers).
When that drops to less than 1 taxpayer per recipient, there's going to be some REAL trouble.

So as long as the recipients can outvote the donors, we'll have even worse expectations.

I agree but also punishing the rich bc they are rich doesn’t help matters, either. Everyone should strive to improve their lot in life but Democrats want to disincentivize it with their Robin Hood “you owe me” mentality.

The Dems seem to think they should be in charge of the trickling down by stealing from the rich at a higher rate so they can afford benefits to the poor, but that doesn’t work, either. The rich will get accountants and lawyers to find loopholes and legit tax shelters.

It’s the middle class who is suffering bc the proportion of taxes eats up what would be a limited disposable income. And the poor still suffer bc goods needed for everyday life comprise a much larger percentage of their income, even if they do get, say, food stamps. People on food stamps aren’t living the high life like Republicans think.

Both sides have it wrong, quite frankly. Reducing the overall tax burden on all by getting rid of regulatory fees for licensing, for example, is one idea to encourage entrepreneurship. The rich tend to start businesses with low wages for employees, like restaurants and retail shops - not a lot of trickle down there. They also invest in real estate which has no ongoing wages or salaries unless they have a bunch of them to manage. Look at what the rich are really doing with their money and you can see where the trickling down is not even applicable, where the trickling down is ineffective, and also get ideas for where it actually is a valid thing.

In order to move classes, one needs either a good college degree with actual earning potential from a public university to keep student debt as low as possible, they need to enter a trade with good pay, they need to be reallyyyy good at sales, they need a grant or loan or gift or to save to start a business that has potential, the list goes on. Relying on trickling down doesn’t get you anywhere. You must do the work yourself. The govt has it all wrong in creating people who are dependent on rich people or dependent on the govt. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

who creates high paying jobs? who buys whatever they want? it all trickles down. free market capitalism gives you the life you enjoy, which is a much better standard of living than socialist utopias. under capitalism, you can go to whatever restaurant you want. you can go to the supermarket and buy basically anything you want. you can buy specialty products. what does government create? i wonder how many high paying jobs people like Elon Musk created? space x, tesla, boring company, paypal. that’s trickle down. the idea is to let businesses thrive by getting the foot of government off off their throats.

Nearly all of the cash the Libs' $433B "Build Back Broker" bill doles out, will go to rich people, and none will trickle down...according to y'all.

So, the Libs borrowed, printed, & taxed (in the future) their way to gather up $433B, then handed it out to their millionaire & billionaire cronies.

Of course, "10% for the Big Guy" has already been agreed to, so is that trickle down? Or trickle up?

The 99% will never see a Dime of this haul, because trickle down is a farce...everyone here agrees; right?

So, how does this bill benefit any of us if trickle down is a farce?

Do you know what does trickle down? $739B new future taxes on businesses...I should know, I own one. They become "embedded taxes":

https://www.quora.com/What-is-an-emb...s-an-example

So, this bill takes $739B from consumers (for years to come), who will be paying higher prices, & gives it to the top 1%, who will just keep it all.

I see this more as "Trickle Up", don't you?
