I do think we need to invest in combatting climate change
Has there ever been any proof that man can have any effect on the climate?
Lots of overheated rhetoric and assertions, ever since the first Earth Day in 1971, but aside from that, nothing but studies that point to more studies that lead to even more studies, sometimes going around in a full circle... but never a single actual proof. Even after 50 years of hysterical claims.
The climate has been changing ever since Earth was a planet. Or ever since it had a climate anyway. And the vast majority of these changes happened before Man even discovered fire.
Haven't we spent enough money on "programs" that sound good but accomplish nothing?
Good, I'm glad they passed it. It needs to be implemented right away. That way, the American people can continue to get socked in the gut by the Democrats' tax and spend ways. This will be just one more reminder of what happens when emotions trump logic in the voting booth. And it'll be one more reminder of why we should vote Republican.
I heard this bill will limit the out-of-pocket prescription expenses of Medicare recipients to $2,000. Major win. Unfortunately, some of the other Medicare provisions won't take effect for a few years.
The bill claims a 40% reduction in carbon-release by the year 2030.
But reaching an astounding 40% reduction in annual carbon-release, based on an explanation of the bill's features, is just not possible.
So it must be something like reaching a 1% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2023, reaching a 2% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2024, reaching a 3% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2025, reaching a 4% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2026, reaching a 6% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2027, reaching a 7% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2028, reaching a 8% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2029, and reaching a 9% reduction in annual carbon-release in 2030.
The reduction in annual carbon-release might reach 9% by the end of the year 2030.
I don't think that the politicians understand that most life on Earth could end in 500 years or less. Well, if all the permafrost and frozen methane in arctic regions were to melt then most life on Earth will have ended
