I can't find a reference now but there was a report that this was not the first time Trump did court shopping and tried to steer a legal case to her bench.
If true, they assume her to be cooperative and sympathetic.
It was from the now dismissed RICO case. One of the motions they tried was to get the Judge dismissed since Bill Clinton had appointed him. In his denial, the judge pointed out:

Our reputation is irreparably damaged either way as these documents "got out". We lost control of them.
The DOJ has a huge mess to unravel now. Exactly how did Trump manage to get a hold of these documents? Was the accesses to them logged? Should they have been? What's on the videos that they got from MAL. Did people access them that didn't have proper security clearance? Why did Trump have some of them in his office? Where are the contents to the empty folders? Did Trump transfer documents to anyone else? Who, and for what reason? So many questions. If Trump has actually done anything nefarious with US Top Secret information, then he *must* be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, else we are finished with the international intelligence community. And we may be regardless.

Yes, this is the fear. The scope of the damage this has done is yet to be realized.

All of them. They were all illegally taken, concealed, stored insecurely and lied about. You've already been given proof from the DOJ over and over again.
Serious question, why is it when everyone that has ever worked for trump leaves his employment ..........they suck or were liars and crooks?
