In the United States of America a man is presumed innocent. You may have forgotten that "part".
You didn’t answer my question.
I agree about presumption of innocence. I’m also not a blind partisan fool for any individual. If you finished reading the filing we can discuss salient points.
And for all the Trump fanboys who wont bother reading the link in post 8978, there is this fact to ponder in the link, written by a former judge, who does know the laws.
1) The documents at his home do not have to be classified to be criminal for him to possess. It is illegal for NDI (national defense intel) documents to be taken outside of a federal facility at any time. Period.
2)It is illegal for anyone who does not have the proper security clearance to handle, move, or view NDI documents. Trump showed them to common people.
3) It is illegal to refuse to turn over NDI documents to the government when requested. Trump apparently moved the documents around trying to hide his possession of them from the government.
Trump is actually skirting fairly close to being charged with espionage. Which is why I believe there is a renewed interest in the Russia file and claims are now being made that Barr misrepresented the info in this file when he refused to investigate Trump (his employer).
What is remarkable is that none of his fanboys that like to present themselves as the true patriots of the country seem the least upset that Trump has possibly compromised the security and lives of US intel agents that the US is currently trying to assess to see if any lives are in danger, or seem to have any interest in why a former POTUS with a known bromance for Putin is trying to hide and steal sensitive NDI from the government?
No interest at all in why Trump was trying to hide his possession of government security secrets from the FBI? None?
Trump is no longer the president he is a private citizen with no security clearance. he should not have have had those documents.
I have yet to hear an explanation as to
1) why trump needs to have these documents in his possession?
2) why his lawyers gave the DOJ a false affidavit stating they were not in possession of the government’s documents ?
Did Trump unclassified them before he left the white house?
Did Trump unclassified them before he left the white house?
That is just an irrelevant question under the charges he is facing
It is like someone caught speeding who tells the office his driver’s license is valid
At this point, the DoJ was smart enough to use a statute where IT DOES NOT MATTER if Trump declassified any of that info—
It is ALL still National Defense Information
Like a strawberry whether frozen, mashed, or dehydrated is still a strawberry

No you don't. And that would be the difference between you and those of us who are Americans.

Don’t be afraid to read the filing. It’s full of things that even Trump admits are true.
